Hi,

Suppose I have some kind of invisible unit/object, which has no actual in game model (on purpose), e.g. I use the LOS model for it.

How do I make it have a sprite/model in the editor so that I can see where I place it?

Invalid model file should appear as a green/black box in editor.Try changing model to ".mdl".

What is LOS model.

Right I don't want to use invalid model file, because then I get a warning from the editor each time I save or re-load the map. Is there any model file that does the same thing, without a warning?

LOS is the model for the line of sight blocker. Apparently if it's put on a custom object, it doesn't give the model a purple box in the editor. Strange...

Go object editor > find that unit,
Editor - Click Helper : set to true

I never used this but probably it will work for you.

Here's a clarification--my first posts I think were confusing.

Blockers (pathing, line of sight, etc.) all have in-editor models (purple boxes).

But in game they cannot be seen.

So I'd just like to make a destructable that works that way.

The question still confuses me.
Why don't you just use pathing blockers then? Pathing blockers are destructibles.
