Getting JNGP / World Editor / DirectX to work

Hey guys!

I have a very stupid problem. I am running two systems:
  • Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat
  • Windows 7 Professional (Emulated)

I can install Warcraft on both systems and run them smoothly. (Though, this is a bit tough too)

However, since the WorldEditor requires DirectX (Which warcraft doesn't?! OpenGL ftw) I need to find a way to install DirectX on either my emulated system or Ubuntu.

Has anyone actually used JNGP on Ubuntu or an emulated windows machine?

Haven't tried it myself, but have you tried looking at Microsoft WARP?

btw, don't use the unsolved tag :P

If you have windows 7 anyway, just install it regularly. You're only making things difficult for yourself.

Also, this seems to be a DirectX problem, not a World Edit problem. You're probably better off asking help in the Tech forum. Actually, you're probably better off asking at a forum dedicated to linux.
