Hating your monster especially when he is a zuum is good, he will turn from "fond" and "soft" into "spartan" and he will hate you for it.

I'm not really fond of strategies during my time on MR2... just basic training, then mint leaf every start of the month, then if I have money, I give them a good food at the start of the month... as for tournaments, I just try to use what skill is useful for the certain fight...

True words, my man.
I used a lot of mint leafs and nuts oils when I started raising properly.
As for food, Tablets are the best imo, but Fish will do the trick too.

Now, a little trick I did with natures was just wait till it got "soft" and hit it with a smoked snake. Early on, you'd need a few smoked snakes to get it back down to normal, but this shouldn't interfere with Mint Leaf and Nuts Oil consumption. After a while, the loyalty will be so high that you may never even need to use a smoked snake again.

the method i'm using now is to feed a monster only tablets for the rest of its lifespan, and as soon as i get a monster i train it only heavy drills. from childhood to old age

Sounds interesting, although I often find light drills are best for bulking up LIF and SKI
Depends on what monster you're training, which one is it?

i'm training a gaboo soldier. i only need speed life and power on him and i maxed out his speed in no time in hard drills.

meh i don't like its graphics and gameplay. and they removed some of the coolest monsters like kato, zilla etc..

yeah, Evo was fun to play but lots of monsters were gone...

what breed was that GS?

Gaboo Soldier is a rare monster, retrieved from the Metal Gear Solid CD (I think the first disc).
Basically, it's Gaboo/?????
Which means it starts with better stats than a normal Gaboo, starts with an extra technique and is generally just better at things.

Maintaining low stress is the key, but how to do it is another matter. And it comes down to personal preference a bit there, too.

you need 3 gemini pots, 3 sculptures, 3 dino tails i think(from what i saw in DP's method)
it reduces fatigue and stress if you keep it in your inventory

I love those low level hares on the E cups, they only have a third range skill + very low HP...

haha yeah i exploit them by getting close and not letting it use its techs

my zuum only has 2,1 ranged skills so I just closed in and boom!

I love how there's some imbalances like Hare has no long range attack except for that super Gas thing of his, which does no damage, and Pixie has no close range attack that uses INT
And how Plant just sucks at life

though the oil fire of the higher hares deal good damage...

and speaking of oil fire. anyone knows why katos don't get oil fire?

I did find it hard to get oil fire (btw I never got it), but it requires an Evil nature. And even when I had that, it didn't seem to get it. I think it needs a certain level of INT to get it. Or even a certain level of POW to get it (but that doesn't make too much sense).

Haha, just had a thought about how cool a Kato with maxed POW would be XD

Well, just had a quick think about what monster I want to train next, and I remember having a bad time with Centaur on account of it's poor POW stats. However, I also recall having a good time with Durahan, but having done it before it didn't seem as fun. So, I've decided to go for a Centaur/Durahan, as I have both in storage. Starting moves seems to gurantee ALL withering attacks, including those aquired via tech-chaining (pretty awesome imo O.

According to my calculations (and using a rating of 5, where 5 is the highest and 1 is the lowest), the stat gains for this monster should be:
LIF POW INT SKI SPD DEF
Centaur: 3 3 5 5 3 3
Durahan: 3 5 3 3 1 4
Chariot: 3 5 5 5 1 4

This is an approximation. If anyone wants to know how I calculated this, just let me know and I'll send you the Doco I have containing this information (and much, MUCH more)

Latest monster I'm raising is Arrowhead/Joker. Atm, it appears a combination with the afore mentioned Chariot (which I trained for a bit and then got bored with) is going to be a very good one. So, I am going to see what I can do in terms of raising them up for a combination.
