Basic rule of tournaments:
They will be arranged in this discussion. This discussion may also be used for talking about tournament-related topics, such as rules, restrictions, queries about ongoing tournaments, etc.

Okay, outlining a possibility for a first tournament. Basically, as there's 4 of us here atm, that should be plenty enough for a good old fashioned Elimination Tournament. You should all know the rules, pretty simple stuff.

So, we'll set the date to be a good time for everyone, and make it lawless (basically, only rule is no hacks).

So that means we can use any monster we want, including Rare monsters (unless someone disagrees with the use of Rare monsters, as they may be rather overbearing).

So, let's discuss times.

yea, that's the method I was thinking of.
Question is, should the judge be allowed to compete? I reckon so personally, although I personally don't think the judge should do their own battles (as they could just replay until they win and there would be no way of knowing it).

Sounds good, we need 4 entries and I will be one of them. So that leaves 3 spaces open for the next 3 people to join. And from the looks of it, Adiktuz is one of said people (if not and you simply want to be judge, then let us know and that can easily be arranged :3).

Okay, I'm going to announce a tournament. It will be Round Robin. As I see it, there are three people who will definitely be able to enter, one who wants to judge and another who I'm not sure about. If it is just three contestants, we will enter 2 monsters each and do it that way.

Now, as for setting a day, shall we say submit your monsters within 48 hours?

So how will the tournaments take place? Each participant would upload the memcard file of his monster, then the judge will make them fight using AI?

Pretty much yea
We'll say which monster(s) to use from the file and upload them via pastebin
Then the judge will go through all the battles and make vids of them, uploading them in whatever way they see fit
And thusly a winner shall be determined ^^

what if we limit the first tourney to relatively low monsters?

We could add something like a 'total level' limit.
So basically you take all the levels of your monster's stats, add them up and say they can't exceed a certain arbitrary number.

In light of having some additional members, I am considering announcing a tournament. 4 contestants, 4 monsters, Round Robin style. Submition starts now, for the first one there will be no limits (unless there are any special requests for this tournament to take into consideration), and I will participate unless there is a fifth person willing to join in.

True, but I also want to know if anyone wants any restrictions. Because if there are no restrictions, I will use my new monster. And you've all seen how powerful he is

Maybe its fine to start with a no holds-barred tournament... So bring out the best you got!

As it looks like it's just going to be the original 3 contestants, I will submit my Color Pandora (Trinity) and my latest Ninja Kato (Mr. Miyagi) to fight. Let's face it, anyone who beats Trinity will have a good chance against Mr. Miyagi, it is possible, but will the AI pull through? Let's find out >

since I wont be training until next month

Gah, silly uni taking up most my time. It appears training monsters will have to wait for a while. Anyway, I'm sure my CP should handle any challenges until I can train again.
