Hi!
I have been experimenting with scorescreens today, and wanted to check if someone else have ever have seen or done something similiar.

I wanted to create a score screen with...
  • a simple text like "thank you for playing!"
  • black background
  • A picture of the warden
  • green particles flowing up from beneath
Here's my progress so far. A lot of stuff has been removed and simplified.
The red rings are: a button that toggles team colour, player number, and different melee game scores.

You can also see the white gradient towards the right of the screen. This is a particle test, but I'm not quite sure how to handle it. In-scorescreen, it looks ugly, as it flashes and blinks instead of flowing smoothly.

I want those circled elements gone (or camoflauged), and I want a controlled particle effect, similiar to the one in my progile picture here on hive:

Anyone? :)
Just tagging @Quilnez, as I know you like this kind of stuff. :D

You can check the scorescreen out in its full glory by downloading the map I attached to this post.

What about skipping the scorescreen altogether and make/trigger your personal scorescreen whilst inmap?
Pretty sure it's easier and more controllable that way.

UI Particles and sizes are really tricky. I had a similar experience myself and realized that the sizes of the particles are multiplied immensely when used in UI. The flashing and blinking are massive particles.

Use particle sizes a hundred, thousand, or ten thousand times smaller. And the position of the particles may be tricky due to this as well.

I am a total newb around here, but I think this is really cool to see and I would love to be able to add your work to a new altered melee map that I am in the process of making, if you have a complete set for all races :)

I bet it would increase the file size of my map a lot if I were to add one for each race or hero though, right?

Depends on the size of your model, and if it is doable at all. My current version adds amybe 10 kb, so it's not huge. :D
I'm not sure it is possibble to add different ones for different races though, as the image seen in post-game is not a model, but a picture. You can create new pictures with different particle effects though. :)

Not sure why you think I am asking about animations or particles, all I wanted to know is if your going to make any more for the other races?

Aha!
Well I just assumed it was about animations and particles when you posted in this thread, since it is kinda the theme for it. :)

Anyway, if you wanna create new images, just create 512x512 pixels ones, import them to the map and set their custom path to those paths:
UI\Glues\ScoreScreen\ScoreScreen-HumanVictoryExpansion\scorescreen-humanvictoryexpansion.blp
UI\Glues\ScoreScreen\ScoreScreen-OrcVictoryExpansion\scorescreen-orcvictoryexpansion.blp
UI\Glues\ScoreScreen\ScoreScreen-UndeadVictoryExpansion\scorescreen-undeadvictoryexpansion.blp
UI\Glues\ScoreScreen\ScoreScreen-NightElfVictoryExpansion\scorescreen-nightelfvictoryexpansion.blp
