Game graphics question

Who knows an app that can reduce Graphic configuration of games much then game itself allows (is it possible btw ?)
Like game allows 32bit color max but I want 16bit (Guess what... OLD PC)

i know you can do this sort of thing with hardware drivers, for example my nvidia drivers let me reduce the colours to 16 bit instead of whatever the highest is.

I think those options wont affect the game and mine is not nvidia (but used one before)

In your graphic card controle center, you can set the quality that the graphics are rendered at to a degree.

For example you can lower the quality of the textures on 3D objects for a preformance increase.

However, as many games uses graphics as the core for their engine, one can not really lower it that much below the already lowest possiable graphics unless (in the case of TES oblivion) you can mod lower graphics into the game.
