How would I go about getting admin privileges on the bot?

Talk to O_OSamuel I suppose. What do you need admin for? You just need 1 other player to !votestart these days.

I just find myself only able to play for short amounts of time. I guess I can always use the makemehost website

You can just host your own custom game either via Bnet or Lan and start it yourself. If your intentions were to be playing by yourself anyway. This option would be better as it cuts any latency you'd have as well.

would I still be able to save? in the past bnet wouldn't let you play solo and save.

If you want to play solo you just have to host in lan mode at the main menu of wc3 when you launch it up. You'll be able to save/load just fine if you do that
