but since the icon isn't even a sword, the handle could look a bit better

Why you dont try to transform it in a staff? only do the ice-cristal thing more small and the handle longer and you will have a Staff of frost.

I thought that was a . . . Frozen Candy instead of a blade. Try somehing more like the Frostmourne with icy fog around and some shining blue light.
