Like the trees stand right now is even less realistic. Trees tend to grow towards the sun. The way your trees are oriented right now looks like you have 10 different suns.

The right tree (the one based on world tree) lacks leaves compared to the size of the trunk...

Also, the trees could use some coherency. There's a tree over there that looks like a palm tree, what's it doing in a pineforest?

p.s. It's not my intention to sound harsh, I'm just pointing out what I find strange on this screenshot. Also try to be more "overwhelming" with branches that start at 1 side of the river and reach the other side.

Aaah.. lets see here.
The palm thing isn't actually a palm, its some weird tree thing... I thought it would blend well with the others.
The bent trees' true intention was to give the place a more artistic feeling. In any way it beats the straight standing trees. I might re-consider the angle, but not for now.
The world tree thing, I tried to make the leaves part bigger, but then it overwhelmed the rest of the background, so that's the way it will probably stay.
The branches idea is really good, but I've no idea on how to do it...

Oh, and no need to explain why you sounded harsh. Criticism is always good when it's constructive, and yours was. ;)

I think it's too colorful. I agree with everyone that there are too large a variety of trees. It isn't bad in any means, but nothing special.
