Friendling

I've been working with 3D Studio Max lately, which I haven't done for about a year (and then I only used it 2 or 3 times) and I've managed to cook up a nice little mesh. I'll be texturing it soon.

Things I have to do with the mesh still:
  • Add 1 more claw/fang/whatever on each antenna thing. (I don't know what things are called, okay? :O)
  • Work on the face? Would like opinions on that.
  • Any other changes you guys think I should make.

My original idea was to curl him up in a ball and give him a cute innocent face - thus the name Friendling. The name is from Friendlings by Dur'Rean.

Also, the images with the claw/atenna things are the most recent ones.

Thanks both of you.

looks nice so far. What's the current face count??

The actual Zergling model looks significantly higher, I don't know the exact number though.

My mesh is:
Polys: 474
Tris: 862

a wireframe shot wouldnt hurt, but looks well designed!
we'll see what the textures does out of it :p

There. Check out the first post.

well yeah, looks okay for a wc3 model!
maybe you could define the main body a little more, its a little "blobish" from the top view!

but next to you might want to use something like this:
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/wireframe-simple-render

the "see through" wireframe is kinda distracting, as you cant really tell which edge belongs to the front or back of what u see...

just dl the script, drag and drop into one of your viewport, then go to
customize -> customize user interface and assign it either to a button in the ui or as some pull down menu entry or anything!
