Taur's Football
Something that I thought war3 badly needed was a realistic football game, certain other football maps had been released and even though it looked like the maker put all of 2 hours into the map it was rather popular (still see it hosted around).
So this is my attempt at doing just that. A football map that is a mixture of warcraft and actual football. The rules are quite similiar to actual football, and people who enjoy football and playing football video games will enjoy it. Yet it has a touch of warcraft, all units have special abilities and you can choose from one of 4 races (more coming) that have specific strengths and weaknesses. While other football games depend on button-pushing micro to dodge defenders, in Taur's Football you can blink, sprint, impale, stun and so much more to get past defenders.
Basically it is a 2v2 map, but it is quite easy to play in 1v1. If you're playing 2v2 it's important to talk to your partner about the plays you choose, so you are both in agreement about who controls what. One person should probably control the quarterback, while another controls the unit you're passing to. On defense you should just split the units. Some people may even find it easier and faster to play 1v1. I suggest you try playing it multiplayer with a friend and not single player because it can be hard to understand.
Features Include:
- 5 different arenas to choose from
- A somewhat realistic looking pitch with yardage signs and goal posts (thanks Chriz )
- 4 different races with 9 different types of players each
- Many special abilities for each type of player
- A customizeable route system which allows you to make your own plays as opposed to picking the same one over and over again.
- A powerful play system that allows you to choose from 8 starter plays or make and save your own for later use in the game.
- Gameplay similiar to actual football
- A reasonably good AI that will manage the units you're not controlling.
- Realistic football features, e.g. Interceptions, yardage, Kickoffs, Incomplete Passes based on distance and the number of enemies around, Hand-off's,Substitutions, players tiring, etc.
- A unique multiboard where you can view either the Scoreboard (basic info about the game) or by pressing the arrow (a.k.a. minimize button) you can view the full game statistics including yards per play, possession, etc.
- A fairly simple 3 minute long tutorial that covers all basic points so new joiners can pick it up.

- A season mode (I'm serious thought about it and it's quite possible, more details later).

- A fairly good terrainer to help terrain the arenas, a huge amount of detail for each isnt needed.

- Fixed a bug that did not properly show the cut scene when a kick ends for the 2nd players on both teams.
- Fixed a bug that allowed units to change thier play, after the play had started.
- Undead Running Back now has "Thirst for Blood", which devours nearby corpses to increase movement speed.
- Undead Safety is given "Bone Wall", similiar to ice wall it creates a wall of bone that prevents units from leaving it for 15 seconds or until the play ends.
- "Darkness" is removed from the Undead Safety and given to the Night Elf Safety.
- "Disappear" is removed from the Night Elf Safety.
