As per request of Ralle, I'm going to start with an Eldar guide. Remember, this is just a guide, and that, the higher the level you get to, the more your strategy can differ and still be effective.

This guide assumes you are ok at using the deposit function and know how to maze.

Each post will contain a guide on how/what to build for 10 levels of the Warhammer 40k TD (best used for version 5.00)

Eldar Overview: Eldar are what you can call the specialization race. For example, your rangers can be upgraded to 3 different towers that deal different kinds of damage (magic, pierce and siege) and have very different purposes. Eldar are also good at mazing, since they have a relatively cheap initial tower that can be upgraded to have slow poison (among the best, it slows enemy units by 50%). This tower can also gain the ability to ensnare, which, beleive me, makes your life a lot easier. Although the Eldar don't have a tower with a single target ability that can resemble challenge, they can still kill the first bosses on their own, thanks to poison and mazing. Fom there on its much harder. Eldar are pretty good at countering mechanical, thanks to swooping hawks and wraithlords. The swooping hawks are also good at anti air and can be upgraded to be even better at it, so their value isn't lost as the game progresses. But overall, Eldar has a difficult time dealing with medium armor units, as their only chaos damage unit is their lumber tower (which isn't nearly as good as other lumber towers) and none of their towers deal normal damage. Their only hope to countering those is mazing initially and just really good towers later on.

OK, on to the guide!

Before Level 1: You start with 60 gold and an Eldar builder. So let's start building! Build 7 guardians and deposit the remaining gold (build them in a pattern that will be part of your maze, mazing is specially important if you are playing solo).
- You now have 7 Guardians

Before Level 2: You should have enough gold to build 7 more guardians. Build them in the maze and deposit the rest.
- You now have 14 Guardians

Before level 3: I bet you're thinking about building more guardians. But that's not the safest thing to do. What you need is to build another guardian and upgrade it to a dire avenger. This is because the level 3 units have heavy armor, which is weak to magic. Deposit the remaining gold.
- You now have 14 Guardians and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 4: Build 1 more guardian and deposit the remiaing gold. You need to save up for anti-air.
- You now have 15 Guardians and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 5: Upgrade 2 of your Guardians to Swooping Hawks and deposit the remianing gold. Make sure that at least 1 of them can hit the group of air units in both the spawning corridor as well as the middle corridor (example: lower right corner of spawning corridor).
- You now have 13 Guardians, 2 Swooping Hawks and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 6: We need to continue the maze. Build 8 more guardians and deposit the rest; this gold will help getting you past level 8.
- You now have 21 Guardians, 2 Swooping Hawks and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 7: Upgrade 1 Guardian near the entrance to your maze to a Ranger and deposit the rest. This will help clumping the enemies at your entrance and will be essential later on.
- You now have 20 Guardians, 2 Swooping Hawks, 1 Ranger and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 8: This is the mechanical level. A lot of newcomers will leak on this level. But that's actually a good thing for you, you get more money! Upgrade 2 more Guardians into Swooping Hawks and deposit the rest.
- You now have 18 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 1 Ranger and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 9: Let's maze some more. Build 7 Guardians and upgrade another guardian to a Ranger. Deposit the rest. The ranger will be essential to level 16.
- You now have 25 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 10: More towers for mazing --> more 7 Guardians. Deposit the rest. The mazing is nearly complete. The gold you are saving is going to be used for a wraithlord.
- You now have 32 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers and 1 Dire Avenger

There you have it, you passed the first 10 levels without leaking 1 single unit! The second installment is coming soon.

Ok, here we go again, for another 8 levels!

Before level 11: Deposit all your gold. Your towers can handle this level, and you need that wraithlord!
- You have 32 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 12: Joy! Sell a guardian from the back part of the maze and build your first wraithlord, deposit the rest.
- You have 31 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers, 1 Wraithlord and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 13: Deposit al your gold. Your new Wraithlord can handle this level, and you will need 1 more.
- You have 31 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers, 1 Wraithlord and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 14: Time to build the last part of the maze. Build 7 more guardians. It should be all replacement/upgrades from here on. As usual deposit the remaining gold.
- You have 38 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Rangers, 1 Wraithlord and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 15: You should have enough money for a wraithlord. Sell 1 guardian in the middle/back of your maze and build the wratihlord. Don't worry, you still have plenty of anti-air power available. No need to build more swooping hawks for now so deposit your gold.
- You have 37 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Wraithlords, 2 Rangers and 1 Dire Avenger

Before level 16: The first boss level is coming! Ok, upgrade your dire avenger to a wraithguard and deposit all your gold. When the bosses come, have each ranger focus fire on 1 boss. This will slow them down the whole maze. Also have each wraithlord focus on 1 boss too. DO NOT SELECT THEM IF YOU ARE PLAYING MULTIPLAYER. Remember to deposit gold immmediately after 1 of them dies.
- You have 37 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Wraithlords, 2 Rangers and 1 Wraithguard

Before level 17: You are loaded with cash now! This is the point where you can start being more original, but since this is a guide I'm only going to show you one way to take advantage. First of all, deposit all your cash. Wraithlords are awesome at this level. You'll earn a good piece of interest this round.
- You have 37 Guardians, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Wraithlords, 2 Rangers and 1 Wraithguard

Before level 18: Now to bring the maze to fullest potential. Upgrade 10 Guardians to Rangers and research Ensnare. Make sure they are evenly spread out through the maze. This should guarantee you to never leak on normal levels.
- You have 27 Guardians, 12 Rangers, 4 Swooping Hawks, 2 Wraithlords and 1 Wraithguard

From here on just replace your guardians with Farseers, Avatars or Wraithlords. Don't upgrade your Farseers, the stun doesn't help against bosses so don't bother. Also upgrade some guardians to Swooping Hawks and then upgrade them all for extra anti air power. No matter what you do, you are going to leak at the other boss levels, unless you pick a different race.

I can say this guide is complete, since there is nothing else I can help with. This is the first of my 3 guides, so if you have some comments please post them so I know what to improve for my next one.

Have fun and good luck!

Also, thanks for the pin =D
