I like it. and you could always just steal some of the texture from the human ships for some blends and contrast in your white, you could even make one with a second out side layer that uses one or multible of the blood splat textures, and make it a messy looking first aid box.

IIRC I closed all sides of the box, maybe it's just the twosided cross (it's not only on top).
