It was hard to tell what this was at first glance, maybe add some small "fir" hairs coming off of some sections and also a small stem on top like this photo for example.

The updated version looks flat IMO, problems from the light source maybe? don't know the exact reason.

It lacks colors, it is too monotone at the moment. There is also too much of black background. It needs to be shaded more cohesively, as one object. Rework the overall shape, try to make image less plain. Use highlights, lightsource should be less subtle.
