Ok, so to start off, i've played warcraft since, warcraft began!
I am not a expert map maker, because i have never officially released a map before.
Ok now, for the fun stuff. . .
Even tho I have never offically released a map, does not mean I have never created one before.
My skills with world editor are and not limited to....
Very good terrianer.
Good with triggers.
Can Do anything I can possibly think of with Object Editor.
I am very organized with my work, so you will hardly ever ever ever find a mispell or crappy writing.(exclude on here because im not trying what so ever.)
Other skills:
Can Make a website, and do graphics for it
story writer
and so on so on, im too tired to write much more tonight. . .

but anyways yeah ive had plenty of experience with world editor, besides the fact i have never put any effort into gui or jass only because i havnt the time to learn it how i like to learn things =D

NOW TO THE POINT!

I am looking to actually host my first map, meaning, i want it short sweet and to the point( not like my post)
Im looking for ideas on something that would be really fun to play over and over but not too big or will take too long to do.
I prefer something small because i dont wanna get all jammed up into a bunch of systems i havnt a clue about and never finish the map
i want to take baby steps.
so please feed me all your ideas for a short/small game that you would love to see come to wc3 =D!

Thanks again for listening to my blah, hope to hear from you guys! =D

I progressed in a manner like this:

1: Start with melee maps with altered terrain. Completely redo the asthetic apperance and replace creeps that are appropriate for the terrain and for creeping [as in can be killed realistically and drop non-OP items]. This is much harder then it sounds, and is a good way for you to learn how to balance units, abilities, items, etc. Then you can move on to altered melee maps.

2: Start with aa pre-existing custom game and start with terrain and unit edits. Edit triggers slightly. Then begin expanding on gameplay. In my case I used CastleBuilder 2.4 North No Myths by Funness as a base map and created several edited versions of CastleBuilder, CastleBuilder Multirace.

3: Begin on an entire map from scratch. Learn how to do what you want to do as you go. List out ideas, and work on one at a time. If you get frustrated, come back to it later or try something else. It doesn't have to be unique, that comes after you've figured out the basics.

So, for your first map, make a melee map or an altered melee map with few edits.
