Eye Icon... Looking for help to improve

Uuummmm this is one of my eye icons i'm working on!

I'm look for how i can add some sort of glow or shine around the eye that would fit it's current colors AND what the background could be!!! Using black would make the surrounding color blend in with the back ground giving no definition to the eye itself. Anyone able to help?

Also any other suggestions would be nice!

You could make the background black, and add a red glow....

See, the surrounding of the eye IS black... So the background can't be black otherwise theres not even going to be an eye
