Hmm. Well, I'm probably not as good as Ironside with computers, but I have many computer problems that ended up fixing on my own and I have never thrown a computer out just because it stopped working. I'd always end up fixing it.

But nevermind that. I have something you could try that might be the answer. If you can go to My Computer (or Computer depending on which version of Windows you have, assuming you have Windows), try clicking on that address bar at the top of the window and type in -> E: <- That's just something you can try, though I've never had that problem before and thus I don't really know if that could fix the problem.

Hope this helps. :)

-first! pray "oh please oh please work you stupid hardrive"(works for me! of course you need to do something first!)
-check the cables connecting the hardrive if it's loosened.
-check the directory for E:\
-plug out the hardrive and switch the cable with another hardrive
-if it appeared, quickly make a backup files to make sure if it disappeared again.
-well, might want to restart the computer?(just checking)
