To get a blood splatter, do I need to download a model/skin or do I create a certain special effect at a
location which doesn't vanish?

I made a dead marine prop, however, I wanted to add a blood stain beside him on the ground. Is this
possible?

I think you'll need to create a texture, and then apply it as an ubersplat or image.

Or if you can find the unit explode model and edit how long the blood splats stay for.

Im just learning about it and decided to experiment. I googled a blood image and converted it
to a BLP and imported it. I try to select an "Ubersplat" type, but I can't select any imported
BLP files.

From research, an ubersplat is:

Ubersplats are graphical effects on the ground.
Like the texture under buildings.

So, I thought I could just stick my custom BLP on the ground. No?

you can TRY to replace the default textures under buildings with your blood image, then create a building with locust ability, and no model, then add the blood splat effect as the textures, then apply it to the needed area.
