these email options repeat three times across the settings in "Account details", "Privacy" and "Preferences". I think it's intended and they were like that before the Remoosed, but it may be a bit redundant. I'm also interested in the possibility of turning off gif's auto-play\\load, as it is done in Discord or many other sites. If internet connection is slow enough, some pages won't load fully, including some of the UI elements, until the images do, and that often takes some time, in situations like mine.

That's a, um. XenForo 2 thing. Not my design. I understand why though. Webmasters who run these types of sites have big problems with users who don't want to receive email and have a very short temper when it comes to disabling it. So it might be a good idea to have them in all places. The worst that can happen is when someone hits "Report spam" on an email from the site. It's a global sign that this website is sending spam.

I feel you. It's not super simple to do as browsers download the full gif regardless and would need to be fed a separate image that's just the first frame and then there would be code to download the GIF as you asked for it. I think you might be able to just block animated gifs with a browser extension or something. That would help you today anyway.

@Ralle
