I am currently working on a map and I came up with a neat idea for the 'arena' section of it. The arena is a square and starting from the center there is a 'cross' of elevators that randomly move up and down (therefore changing sections of the arena as you play).

Anyways, what I've noticed is that when my units step on or off the elevators they seem to 'dip' down and then come back up, as though they were walking into a trench and then coming back up on the other side of the cliff. It doesn't effect the mechanics of the map in any way, but it is really ugly. I'd like the units to walk smoothly from one corner of the map, across the elevators, and onto the other corner with no ups and downs.

How can I fix this?

Screens might help. I don't see why the elevators would "dip".

The elevators aren't dipping. The units are. Let me explain (sorry, no screens as I've edited the map).

The units 'fall' as though they are going into a trench or something as they walk from the elevator to the 'land.' The elevators aren't doing anything, it's the units. They don't walk smoothly on and off the elevator. They fall through the floor and then come back up.
