Efficient way to make GIF :D

I hope I can know for both

photoshop is pretty good for making 2d animations. (as well as gifs)

You can also do it online. There are gif generators, just tell which images you want and the interval between them.

This. DON'T USE PHOTOSHOP. In making gifs, I mean. It's really, REALLY annoying to use photoshop for that purpose since you have to edit every single frame. The best online site i've been using for gifs is Ezgif.com.

I use my digicam for making GIFS, the quality is excellent and pretty easy to use. Although that probably depends on the brand and unit.

When making our own 2D games in school, our designers used photoshop to create spritesheets, which is 2D animation.

I don't know if it's the best though..

if that doesn't count as animation flash is the best choice for animation

Yeah. Flash can definitely make GIF. You'll just need to publish your animation in the form of gif format. And it's more user friendly compared to PS. Well, at least to me.

I would avoid gifs as they are not very efficient forms of animation. I am personally against people who stick multi-megabyte animated gifs in signatures and as avatars as it is a waste of bandwidth.

This one is free, easy to use and has a lot of feutures. ScreenToGif It also optimizes GIFs pretty well.

I personaly use Camtasia Studio for very optimized and well designed GIFs but it's not free.

If you want to make a gif out of a render (in the case of 3ds max). Adobe's Image Ready is the best tool i've used for that. It comes bundled with Photoshop. (I think it was actualy merged to photoshop by CS4)
