effect problem

i made this test special effect in 3d max 5 following one of the tutorials on the site. it uses ingame textures and everything seems alright in the MDL, but for some reason it doesn't want to show up in the game. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

i dont understand, how did you get it to work? i couldn't get it to work in game or the viewer. it exported out of 3d max perfectly and i changed the textures to Textures\whatever in the mdl and stuff. very weird.. it was just a test to see how to make one anyway.

you made wrong texture paths that was the problem

could you explain please? its not textures\Start6.blp or what ever? or do i have to direct it to the exact model i took it off?
