Easy Way to Start Item Ability CD?

I have an item that will have a variable CD. Thinking two ways to do this.

1) was thinking just use this trigger (might be easiest if it works how I intend):

• Unit - For Unit (Triggering unit), start cooldown of ability Black Reincarnation " over "ankh_cd seconds.

2) Was thinking change the cooldown group of the item.

Any ideas which one of these two would be the better option or if some other way is?

EDIT: above option #1 seems to work. But i'm not sure if CD timer is the same as triggered timer.

The cooldown is a timer, you can sync the cooldown with your own timers if that's what you're trying to do.
