Man, I thought I was in this. lol The Spyro game looks fun, my opinion. I haven't played any of the series' games. i also don't think the graphics change between consoles. Probably the best feature in the DotD game is the flight. We finally get to fly when and where we want. And the music is not that bad either.

I watched the entire game, and much to my surprise, I like it. It's story is good, but facing the Destroyer, seriously? That tkes too long. Especially having to destroy all 12 crystals, especially the last one.

The story was an attept at serious but was not serious enough and was too predictable.

Blowing up the planet, seen it done a million times, twice in sonic, 5 or more times in final fantasy, as well as other fantasy movies and games.

Hero "sacrificing themselves" yet not dieing, done multiple in final fantasy and movies. Really they would have been better off letting spyro die in the end or atleast improving the world falling appart scene so that some force or something saves him, the book ending is just wierd.

Also these are dragons, they are meant to be living creatures. The entire soul thing is ok, but the way they spontanioulys vanish when they die seems a bit boring, could be more dramatiscised. Again the book thing that matched this seemed stupid and too childish.

The Ignitus part also seemed cheap as its clear that he now will be able to appear in a sequal, and would have been best left to another game.

And the dark master being swallowed by a crystle.... Again seen it done 100s of times before but this time it made little sense what that crystle was or how they could over power so easilly something which was meant to have such great power. That part needed more explination and a longer ending for the final boss.

The world falling appart thing also had its problems as with such a break up, gravity would have been nulled. Also everything on the surface would die due to lack of atmosphere etc. Would have been more effective if as it was breaking appart (cracks forming) spyro did his thing instead of after the pieces were drifting away)

As for the final boss, seemed rather lame as its moves were usually single direction with nearly no AI what so ever. Even final fantasy had more dynamic combat. For overall inter activity of the final boss, I think the first of the triology still would win as Cynder did not fire fireballs in the wrong direction and non AI attacks were more devistating.

true. Although, I like to think someone interfered with Spyro's death and pushed him and Cynder into a portal. =3 (a part of me died watching the death scene with Cynder dieing next to Spyro. D:) The plot was too predictable as you mentioned and it's a shame the bad guys always have the retardedly weak and stupid minions. And, as I watched this all, I noticed some of the battles against the minions took nearly 15 minutes. -.- Overall, game-play is great, but the logic behind parts of the story screwed the game. D: But the free-flying was a nice touch! =3

Strangely, they are ACTUALLY making a Spyro movie. Oo Christmas 2009 lol. I'm kinda curious as to just how good their plot and graphics will be (plots for such movies are TOO easy to predict... >.>) :p

Yeah, i watched the Eternal Night game, and I can say, Cynder isn't too hard. I watched a guy take her down in maybe 5 shots and that was it. Then he had to attck her with the fury (Cortexity) breath thing. And I agree that Dawn of the Dragon could've been better in many ways. The city under attack was good, though I don't see what stops the players from just jumping down and attacking the ground units. Aside from the fact that they were all fake and the players would (somehow) die. Plus, I didn't see what made THAT connon so important. It's like they only had one, maybe on each wall. probably the best feature of the game is the freedom of flight. Too bad they didn't allow it in other games. maybe like in Eternal Night with the hundreds of pirate boats that magically fly and transport you from boat to boat. Seriously.

I agree with var here. The Malefor battle didn't take too long, but long enough for me to skip to the next to parts and actually get to the ending. lol metroid Prime was harder to kill. That battle actually MADE you work on surviving. And Malefor's attacks could've been better, as i noticed that all the player had to do was go next to/behind him and attack. And the final attack was weak. Two tiny dragons attack a much larger and probably more powerful dragon? Seriously, even though he was weakened, i still recall him regenerating. ANd honestly, he was pretty stupid as to follow them and try to finish them as they sank back to the planet. That kindof doomed him there.

They should have worked on building the characters and emotions more. Think of that final fantasy used that made it have good stories. Even crap final fantasy stories still influenced you emotionally for a while.

They should have overall extended the scenes making more talking and longer custscenes so they are more effecitve as currently all of them seem high speed, so fast it is hard to understand what is happening.

agreed. The cutscenes were too short and forced you to play more and hardly get a chance to realize what's going on in the scene. I think the movie may be a bit of the same with the short bits of talking and more flam breathing. >.> Although, they did a relatively good job killing my day when I watched the end. D: I just sat there shocked for 5 mins after Spyro commited "suicide" D: (taking Cynder with him T_T)

I'm sure a lot of people hated the Spyro series after that ending. :/

I wonder just how many people destroyed either the game or console. And also want to find out just how many people contacted the company that made the game asking why they had them sacrifice themselves and what happened to them. I kindof want to ask, but I won't. lol I know Misha smashed his console. Misha, you should have just smashed the game, not the console. It's cheaper that way. lol

Nah, They probably would try to explain it. And if they didn't, they probably would say that they're leaving in gaps they can fill later. Besides, they knew that people would hate them for killing Spyro and Cynder.

and i also want to ask this. What stops Spyro and Cynder from going back home?

Firstly, in the ending they are home on the surface playing.
Secondly they did not die. As it shows them playing in the skys it means they had to live. This is clarified by spyros name not being entered in the book of dragons or whatever.

They should have had it that spyro and cynder did die, but they were pushed back onto the surface of the planet and into life for their heroic deeds or soemthing, as that is the usual way it is done and is not totally out of place afterall this game rips elements from like 100s of other games.

Secondly, a new planet was ment to be forming, yet the whole planet was falling appart. Was I the only one who thought that the guys got the affect wrong? Normaly with those planet rebirth plots, the whole planet turns into a fiery or destroyed rune, from which a new world would be born. However here they had the planet fall appart, which means there is no mass to form a new planet from. Unless the broken up sky world was the world that he was after creating, which I dought.

Also if you listen to it, it was meant to have happened more than once in the past, however it was only this time it was stopped. Atleast that is what the dialogue pointed towards which makes sense as if the world is destroyed, there would exist no record of other dragons doing so in the past which is logical. Which means new planets must have been reforming which was poorly shown by the fall appart thing.

The getting rid of the final boss definatly needed work, as it was meant to be a powerful dragon, yes he was destroyed in like 10 secs of cutscene. FF bosses atleast took 20 secs or more to be fully destroyed, and as this was such a major thing it should have atleast been a minute.

What will spyro do next? Is it not obvious already. Spyro and cynder will return for another game with sparx and maybe some new elemental dragon (probably female as that would be the easiest plot twist to use as cynder would be fighting over spyro with her and probably turn evil again) to stop the nasty purple dragon (who name escapes me) from comming to life again by escaping the crystle. Ignitus will have some kind of role in it as he was given a job in the ending as well as that voice actor is one of the main reasons people buy the series. This will obviously result in atmost 2 more games with the dragon pair in their current age state afterwhich I recon they will try full adult form spyro out or atleast an even more mature version.

In atmost 5 games time ( 2 as current and 3 as older), they will probably redevelop the series with an entire new generation as the series would become harder to squeeze any more games out of than the orignal.

I think I agree with you on every single point you've covered. XD And, honestly, if the planet was to be reborn, the plant life wouldn't be the same... and I think the volcano would remain a basic hell-hole on that planet. :/ And I doubt any new evils would be popping up in the first few years of the "new" planet as everyone would be readjusting to the catastrophic events. But, Malefor was right. :p The purple dragons destroyed the planet and created a new one. XD Maybe not what he himself intended, but he spoke the truth! XD

Well, the dragon spirits that got rid of Malefor was most likely the purple dragons he had killed. I'm happy that the bad guy was not another Black Dragon. It's too tipical that way. And I don't think that they will attempt another game based off of the trilogy. As they said, it is the "LAST" of the trilogy. If they did do another game based off of the trilogy, it would probably be their kids. Though I highly doubt it. Also, if they made a game of spyro or Cynder being older, or adult, they would require new moves. Cynder's tornadoe attack just wouldn't work with an adult dragon. And besides, even though it would be awesome to play as an adult dragon. When a gamer thinks of "Spyro", they think of the young purple dragon. They wouldn't change them, unless it was for a movie.

The 2009 movie will be interesting, although they will keep Spyro's image. I wonder what the characters will look like. lol

If you noticed even the spyro the dragon from the last of the trilogy was a lot older than the orignal from the first 2 and from PS1.

Basically, they will atleast have one or more spyro games, maybe even another trilogy after this one with different plot, as the ending was just perfect for that.

Ofcourse the movie will make spyro look more real and dragon like, as they have much larger render capabilities as well as a more serious audience who pay attention to views and not gameplay as there is none.

Still it will be a WTF moment to a lot of people in the world when that movie gets advertised, which undoughtably it will.

Currently on the TV there are no adverts for the new spyro game. This is especially strange as there were tons for the previous 2 and also tons for other games.

I traced this down to who owns the game being unclear. Sierra acording to activision no longer exists yet they themselves do not list it as a released game. Activision said it will refuse to publish games of poor standard with the exception of spyro. Only the first spyro game of the series released before the merger is on activisions site. Also the studios who made the game also is unclear on wikipedia. Thus I think the entire game was completly ignored due to the merger and so absolutly no advertising budjet was spent on it, atleast for now.

This all is most unusual as before TV and comics were filled with spyro adverts every time a game came out, especially german channels. This all points towards activision eithor having a delayed advertising policy, or else not thinking spyro worth being advertised. Which is a major reliefe as they used to sponsor all kinds of crap before and fill TV channels for ages with shows no one watches.

However the movie probably will get a lot of advertisment unfortunatly.
