The latest DotA map available here (version 1.26 only). Don't forget to download this file too. You should move this mpq file to the Warcraft 3 folder.

The patch notes are available here, here and here.

The latest DotA maps are made by @DracoL1ch.

Haven't been playing DOTA in years.

There are quite a lot of DOTA maps with new features, but unfortunately, all of the latest DOTA maps will only work on the older versions of Warcraft III, specifically 1.26. That version is mostly used in third-party online servers like Eurobattle.net (Lagabuse), RGC, Iccup, and d1stats as of now, even though Eurobattle.net also uses 1.28.5.

Some DOTA maps can't be playable on higher WC3 patches because Blizzard had patched the "memory hack" at that point, which makes some maps with ACE exploits unplayable. 1.26 still has those ACE exploits.

The latest DOTA maps that was made by the original team (IceFrog) were v6.78c AI 1.4e "Farewell" and v6.83d, which you can download from Epicwar: DOTA v6.78c AI, DOTA v6.83d

There was also DOTA v6.83d PMV 1.42, which was actually made by the Chinese DOTA team, but still has a lot of bugs compared to v6.78c.

For the (very) latest DOTA maps made by Dracol1ch, please do what Kotol suggested.

I've seen Dota 6.89 hosted on Reforged servers. What can you say about this version?

Yeah the one made by Dracol1ch seems really cool with all the new features.. It sucks that the older maps cant be playable anymore like you say.. But i guess at least people still play and enjoy the game.

I'm curious, this might be a bit off-topic, but these new maps created by @DracoL1ch, feature many new gameplay mechanics that aren't present in the official DotA map created by Icefrog. Some of these mechanics are Break (passive silence), Mute (item silence), Status Resistance, Slow Resistance and many more. Could all of these mechanics be incorporated into a system under the Spells and Systems heading, similar to @Bribe's Damage Engine or @Marchombre's Heal Engine? Having these new features, especially in altered melee maps, could further enhance the potential of these maps.

I mean im a fan of it personally i think it looks really cool considering id rather watch DOTA 1 gameplay instead of DOTA 2 ..since DOTA 2 looks like sh!t to me.. It is kind of frustrating that there's multiple new dota maps instead of just 1 nowadays.. I remember back in the day were once a new DOTA patch came out we had to delete the old one and replace it with the new one lol.. good times.

I guess that Break and Mute could be integrated in something like @chopinski's Crowd Control & Tenacity system.
Having all type of cc and cc resist in one library would be great indeed, but I don't know how much work those would require in order to be implemented.

Break is done by recoding every passive effect for trigger-based ability adding, so it now checks for availability + a dummy unit 'required' to make ability button 'darkened'
Mute can be done by upgrading AInv into AIn2 which has flags 'can not use items', but I can think of a various issues following this decision - yet it works.
Status resistance - literally the same as break, recode every ability included.
Slow resistance - damn, I love I dont have to do that on older patches. New patches allow you to modify any ability values so it's doable, old patches = really really fckup results like a binary based ANeg system with negative values.

Like, damage tracking already allowed to perform 99% of features provided by dota2 engine back to 2016, and then valve dove into the abyss. Which can only be handled by memory hack (1.26) or new ability editing natives.

Overall I believe porting new features on the current wc3 is possible to some extent, but I have no experience with those and can't say more.
