This map has been based on the Diablo III Gameplay Video. You may even recognise a few of the in-game events if you've seen it! Please remember that this is a beta version, and may still contain bugs. Anyone can host this online, just let me know if you find any major flaws in the game :)

Although this map is enjoyable, I was dissapointed by the lack of key D3 features.

Bugs:
Items on the edge of some bridges start to lean at an obscure angle through the floor.
The abilities of the scorcress / wizard messed up their locations hen using time shield (use constant locations for consistancy).
In some places, so many monsters spawn that their movment is inhibited making them sitting ducks to spell casters.

Personal problems
The terrain is very missleading, with a lot of directions which appear to be tunnels but are dead ends (should be made more clear if they are dead ends) as I am sure D3 will not have such things.
I was sad about the wizard not having the signature beem of disintigration move which acted like the real deal in D3 (channeld beam which blasts enemies).

Triggers:
I was shocked to see the leaks as well. Try avoiding leaking by using JASS or atleast remove the objects so they do not leak.
Far more triggers were used than needed, try making a trigger perfom more than just 1 thing.

Environment:
The terrain does look good thou, no costs were spaired with that. Great attention to detail was payed with it and almost every part looks good (next to the odd ground distortion due to the low res textures WC3 uses but thats to be expected). The fog in some parts was a bit too thick though and inhibited vision but this was a minor problem. I also was dissapointed at the lack of destructables, as one of D3's great claims is the highly destructable environment which this seems not to try to recreate at all.

Blizzard:
Also another complaint is the lack of items and classes, but that is not your fault but that of blizzard for being as slow as snails to decide anything.

Sugestions:
A cool feature would be to allow the selection of both male and female versions of each class just for the fun of it as D3 will support that.
Trigger wise I also reccomend avoiding specific GUI triggers for things like chests and designing more generic JASS systems as that would reduce the size of the trigger script in long run and reduce the number of active triggers.

Thus I say. . .
Terrain - brillient
Triggering - poorish
Gamplay - enjoyable
Polish - lacking
Replayability - Limited (will get boring quite fast after you win it a few times)

Although quite good at imitating D3 in some ways, other boasted features from blizzard are lacking.

It would have been nice to play it with the maker, but apparently his game was full with someone who was not joining.

Thanks for the review! Soz bout that game you were in earlier :) I was waiting for a friend of mine to join and needed the space :S

And yes, i totally agree about the triggers :) This is only my 3rd map ever, so I'm not brilliant with them :) Hopefully all this stuff will be sorted for the final version though! :)

@Personal problems: In Diablo 1 and 2 & LOD, it was very common for there to be multiple routes in a dungeon, and more common for many of those routes to be dead ends. I don't know what makes you think Diablo 3 will be any different.

While Diablo 3 will not be a pay too play, from a monetary stand point, the more it takes you to do something, the longer you play, thus the more money Blizzard brings in. Regardless of D3 not being P2P you can still expect them to want you to play for as long as they can get you to.

@Environment: Certainly you can't expect them to add destructible environments too this map. They are already pressed for space - 4MB is the limit on Bnet. and adding these destructible objects that in many cases would be next to useless considering the way WC will always play out.

Requires:
A huge map with a HUGE amount of work, and a brand new gameplay with 100% new areas. Otherwise it will be hard to make the map so much bigger :/

Yahh, some people think that blizzard is money breathing monsters that does everything to get their damn money. But thats not true, if that was the truth they would never, ever create diablo 3 & Starcraft 2 becouse they have the money they need and it costs ALOT to create the games.

Yupp. keep in mind that we in about a month? Lets say 2/4weeks we will need about 400KB, where do we get that? We have no freaking idea. Maybe we will remove Tyreal since he's not connected to the map in any way so far.

what, you said. We will not make male/female characters, that would double the space our characters take. and would maybe increase the map by 600-800KB and female/male is the most useless thing we can possible add by now i think.

Please do not spam or go off topic (especially for post count).

Destructable environments could purly be systems which create flying planks for a short time when a door is destroyed. I guess it is not very vital, maybe as something to do after the map is finished.

In diablo II, there were no dummy exits, there were dead ends but all areas or caves were walkable in to. I am just saying maybe make them clearer that they are not path ways and so people do not try to walk into them.

Another Ideas...
Improvements: Make the ritual of the dead an script and not an item, and do a belt system for load potions. Then, you can use these 2 empty slots to add more equip type, like fists and boots or rings and pendants.

This is a small and temporary system. We dont want to put to much affort to something that will be tottaly removed, forever when we are done with the new on. And the new on will use the inventory as the potion "belt".
Check CloudWolfs albums and you will see pretty much how the inventory looks like.

one thing is a fact: i liked the map, and its very well done, so i just suggested cloudwolf an improvement to his map...

We shouldent change it autocast but we should change the rage system if cloud havent.

I just said the the rage system is tottaly bugged, and auto-casting would be fucked.
Its like warrior having auto-cast on spells in WoW xD and do not comment "ya... and you compare this with wow..." since i can compare it with Diablo 2 too. Auto-cast = wtf.

Lets say your a mage, you have 100 mana, your ability cost 80 mana. and you want the it to be auto-cast? o_O
This issue came to existence only becouse we fucked our Rage system and our spells isnt that good >.<'

hi there i have 2 ideas, maybe they have been already posted, but anyway...

at the start of the map, focus the camera a little far from the hero. this improves your vision and the way you can move your hero.

the other suggestion is to lock the camera to your hero. so it really fits Diablo gameplay :)

hope u like those suggestions...

? Warrior was removed long ago, and you havent noticed that barbarian have rage yet? :S

redmarine, its not suppost to show all the new content :S We just got a new one becouse we have done changes like Interface, removed warrior, new inventory system and such things.
Is it really a good idea to show all new content in the map? Doesnt that destroy the fun? :/

I'll admit, the auto-cast cleave is a very nice idea :) I just dont think it will work with the current rage system :S

Basically, whenever the barbarian attacks, he gains mana, but with cleave on, hes going to be gaining and losing it at the same time which will be a tad messy :S

Although! Saying that, I'm going to redo the rage system anyway, as its rather buggy :p Once its been redone, I may well make the cleave ability autocast :D

And yes! I see what you mean about casting rage, theres a short delay where he doesnt attack :S I'll fix that for 1.14 :)

Cloud, are you sure that an auto-cast spell will work so good when the hero has rage? On the trailer you can see that it takes more then half of hes rage to cast one ability. And if a spell is good enough to have auto-cast, its to strong. Its ment that people should use all spells :S
Am i wrong? >.<

Edit: LTGH, it's quite hard to make a good cleave since it's awful or almost impossible to get a perfect functioning on-damage system that doesn't drain performance too much.

It may be hard to make a copy of the one from diablo but spells is unbalanced if people want to use Auto-cast on a spell that drains more then half their "mana".
If people want to be able to auto-cast it, it means that its very strong, which means that its unbalanced. And if im not wrong, we are redoing all spells.

100% off topic:You guys know if blizzard gave any details about new classes? just asking :D i want more to come in this map and i want to see it expanded :D

1) He was rich befor he died
2) I found a sacred room in a castle and took over it with hes mighty power
3) He killed the king and turned the guards into monsters
4) He is really good at blacksmithing!
5) He summoned slaves to do it for him
6) This number is freaking awesome =D

Ive also managed to save an extra 60kb by removing redundant imports! lol :D

Im not sure if its the best game in the world or on hive but its still pretty awesome.
