Detecting a loop around a point

Let me post 2 images as examples:

What you are asking is very loosely defined. For example the image above is not a circle due to its sampled nature. It is circle like but not a perfect circle. What is the difference between that and someone making a box around the structure?

Shape and pattern recognition falls into complex AI tasks. Only go down that path if you really have to.

Easiest 'stupid' way to check this would be to create invisible dummy units with max move speed and order them to move to a point 'inside' the circle. If they can't get within X distance of that point in Y time it might be a complete circle. Or it could just be a very good maze that even max speed dummies can't navigate that quickly.
