wc3scrnshot76mv3.jpg

Working in the grain fields; maybe if I cut enough grain I'll get a prize...

I also worked on the Nexolude Campaign, and the Great Troll Wars Mod. Both of which were canceled, or reworked into new mods. If I can find where the new mod associated with the Great Troll Wars Mod is located, I'll provide a link.

Okay so to the point of the matter.
-Destiny of the Fated- Western Tyria; Desecration
My plan here is to create a series of scenarios (downloadable as a single Campaign or as seperate entities) all featuring essentially a completely new game. My plan is to create a sort of point-and-click and choose your own adventure (DnD) hybrid within which you travel around an openworld and battle monsters, make allies, save princesses, build empires, uphold justice, or whatever else your heart desires. I plan on giving a HUGE amount of player-choice in these scenarios, and quite a variety of choices depending on which scenario you've selected. Desecration will obviously center around the region of Western Tyria and something to do with Desecration, but just because you kill a giant skeleton and burn a city to the ground in this scenario (just examples, not actual events perse) doesn't mean your hero can't go on to have more adventures does it? Thats right, -DotF- will have saving and loading between scenarios! But you won't just be able to save here and load there as you please, you will have the opportunity to save your character upon "completion" of a scenario (finishing the main quest) and loading upon starting of a new scenario. There may also be location specific save/loads (through the campaign) but that is yet to be decided.

I plan on posting a beta version of the game for people to play around with by friday of this week.

I certainly have, but it also certainly gets bigger with each new event and each new trigger and each new event, it certainly seems overwhelming looking at it as a whole thats why I do it piece by piece. Also, the amount of content needed is one of the reasons why I am making it a "campaign", so that if need be a level may load a second map.

-Thanks for the feedback-

The classes are less classes and more histories, the Swordfellow is perhaps the most of an actual class... They decide your backstory and your stats more then define the Class that most games contain. The "Classes" are very likely to change and evolve from those that I have listed.
If you want to be a warrior then you should choose something with high Strength or Endurance, but no class is restricted to just being Warrior or Mage or Archer. The starting class is basically a starting point, from which you may develop your character down whichever path you desire. But also be aware that although this game will have a battle system (far different from Warcraft 3), the stat points are used constantly throughout your journey deciding wether your character "fails or succeeds" in events and attempts and how people react to him, etc.
[The fail/succeed events will sometimes feature mini-games of sorts where you the player must do something to succeed]

reliase you don't have to use a pre-created ghost model right? you can grab a model and use a trigger for transparency, because he's like "you took up your father's sword" well wtf his father looks like a great arch-mage lol. also alot of things seem scaled a tad too big, like doodads at fathers grave, horse is a little too big. building in wit farmer you can see the details in pixels lol.

also where the second screenshot would be, there is a space in the img tags so it didn't show up

Everything so far is essentially a place holder (atleast with character models and the opening cinematic). I know about the tinting for partial visibility, as I'm using it all over in the map already... But I've been more concerned with getting something thats fun to play, and fully functioning, rather than pretty thus far.

So things like the horrifying walls (scaled up chairs) and floors (scaled up table) will be replaced later. The doodads at "Father's Grave" don't seem so big when you see it in action, or atleast I don't think so.

The horse being huge is actually mentioned while you play, its supposed to be a huge work horse. But I think you're right, it is a bit too big I'll scale it down now.

Thanks for the input guys, any and all comments will be considered and or built in... So feel free to share ideas of what you'd like to see. :-D

well from screenies looks like random events... boring events. Need fighting obviously, maybe turn base to go along with the slow moving action of the game. These boring events are neccesary lol but so is fighting in a wc3 map. Or puzzles, but puzzles wouldn't fit in this game, atleast an excessive amount.

Their are puzzles, minigames, and fighting. Fighting won't be the entire game but it will certainly paly a role, and as I said it will be much different from Wc3. Expect a sort of Turn Based back and forth, standard oldschool RPG fightingstyle.

And the whole farm thing, the "boring events" as you said have to exist, but I hope to make the game really tense and exciting in areas and points. The game certainly starts off slow, but I'm trying to decide how to throw in some *BOOOOO* [startling/suprising] moments as best i can.

don't have to tell me, and since dial-up takes so long It's taking like 2 weeks of letting photoshop download when i'm not on, and once it's done i'm gonna try and make room to start making sigs like I did a long time ago, and learn how to skin =P

116 stalks! omg I didn't notice that, ahh that sounds like runescape all over again! >.<
