DDS Question...

Hi all,

I've got an idea of map that I would need to use a DDS for, the one I picked is Damage Engine 3.7.0.1

Looking at it I have a slight problem... My idea is that mana would be used as a shield, so damage would be dealt to the shield first then the health. However I intend to have different damage types that deal more/less damage to the shield, so the shield would basically act as it's own armor type before it hits the health (which the damage would then be effected by the units armor type). However I'm not sure if I can detect the damage type of the attack? If so how can I?

If this DDS can't do this is there one that can??
 
I did think about mana shield, but the DDS can't detect the damage type of an attack and I didn't want it to be something you would have activate.

I've got a system in place that is working so far, only problem is that units can only have one damage type... but I think that works for what I need anyway
