Cut Lumber

Hiya all ^^ lately ive been trying to make an item cut lumber. but whot ever i do. it either cant target the tree (yes i have edited the ability) or if i base it on eat tree. it just immediatly kills the tree instead of damaging it. could someone please help?

Add a trigger in which when an unit picks up that item, the trigger adds the ability "Harvest wood" to the triggering unit and viceversa for when the unit drops it.
