Custom Skill Footmen v1.36

Wellcome to Custom Skill Footmen




  • What is Custom Skill Footmen? - Custom Skill Footmen is a footmen wars type of map where you're able to customize your hero's abilities.

Features:
  • 6 Races - Include Human, Undead, Night Elf, Orc, Naga and Drenai = over 60 different units to spawn.
  • A spell buy system - U can buy your spells for your Skill Points (lumber) there is over 65 different spell to choose beetwen.
  • A Multiboard - The Multiboard (the thing in the right conor of your screen) displays all hero kills, how many times every player have dided with hes hero and hero levels.
  • Items - Over 40 different items include 9 recipe. 2 random item spawn arena, witch spawn a random Power Up.
  • Team Duel - After 15 min. the team duel come. Team 1 vs Teams 2 - Team 3 vs Team 4 - Winner of bolth matches agaist each other.
  • A great Sunken Ruins terrain - Look screenshots below.
  • Misc - All the small details that make this map unique.

    • Changed Gold Cost of Random Hero 1600->1700.
    • Changed Life and Mana upgrade to not effeckt heroes.
    • Fixed a bug that gave your hero +1 level on the mutiboard everytime u revive.
    • Fixed a bug with the random hero.
    • Murgul Slave can now enter middle
    • Murgul Slave Gold Cost reduced 250->200.
    • Removed Murgul Slave from Hydra Guardians requirements list.
    • Reduced the lag caused by suicide.
    • Fixed a bug with autocast dident worked on Naga Myrmind.
    • Fixed a bug with siege units could attacks doodads.
  • Buildings
    • Ballanced towers to be a lot more usefull.
    • Removed all hotkeys on buildings and their units.
    • Reballanced a lot of buidlings cold cost
    • Changed Armor of all main buildings 20->0.
    • Changed life reg for all buildings 0.25->1.
    • Renamed Altar and Researches Center to Command Center.
    • Changed sound for Command Center.
    • Removed Crab from Command Center.
    • Fixed some incorrect unit tooltips.
    • Fixed a bug with some buildings dident auto-spawn.
    • Fixed a bug with auto-spawn tryed to tain some units to often.
  • Misc
    • Maked the starting items unsaleable (still dropable)
    • Added a "-ms" command - to show your current ms.
    • Added "Orb Effects does not stack." text on orb items.
    • Fixed some bugs with hotkeys on bolth spells and items.
    • Removed Double Shot added Slow Poison.
    • Fixed a bug with spell Feedback only could be upgraded to lvl 5.
    • Removed Tome of Experience from Item Creaters drop list and added Manual of Health +75.

    • Added 2 new spells: Call of the Winds and Extended Lightning.
    • A allrounded ballance all spells effect: Damage, aoe, cd and Duration.
    • Remaked Spell: Reapers Scyte to deal 12 - 30% of targets maximum hp.
    • Changed hotkeys of all spells to the first letter of the name.
    • Increased damage bonus from spells to heroes 65->70.
  • Allround Chance
    • Updated Quest Menu.
    • Changed Tooltip on all spell items.
    • Increased spawn time by 20% of all units.
    • Optimized the Win/lose trigger to work correcly.
    • Changed the terrain a little bit in the item spawn arenas.
    • Maked it possible to make full shared and see Multiboard by type "-Share"
    • Added some animation to Item Creater when he create a item, and added Divie Armor insteed of Fortifed.
    • Fixed a bug with tooltips in Researches Center, chanced button position for the upgrades, added new hotkeys and icons.

Custom Skill Footmen 1.17 is a footmen wars type of map where you're able to customize your hero's abilities.

First and foremost the white loading screen was terrible on my eyes, a black one would have fit much better. The extremely high height elevation looked terrible; use the smooth tool over those areas. Other than that, the terrain was fine. The mini-map is quite important in this genre of map, so I recommend removing the image. A couple of icons lacked the DISBTN versions, so they appeared green when I clicked on the menu.

The map was fun, with several different races and loads of different abilities. The fact that abilities could be applied to any base hero, balance became a problem. Some heroes were underpowered, such as Jaina who had terrible stat growth. I can see a Blademaster or Demon Hunter posing quite a problem with their ridiculously low attack cooldown. Another complaint was that the game wasn't playable on Single Player. I'm not talking about the inclusion of AI, but it wasn't necessary to end the game just because there were no other human players. I always end up playing on Battle.net anyways, but it made the cosmetic part of my review frustrating.

Rating: 2.0 and recommended for approval

My recommendations:
Replace the white loading screen with a black one (use the .mdx file with no texture).
Give the icons proper DISBTN versions.
Smoothen the terrain (using the largest brush size).
Remove the mini-map image.
Balance the base heroes.

PROS:
  • Many Kinds of Spells
  • Many Skill-Combos are possible due Skill system.
  • Nice Balanceing tough.
  • Terriain is also well done ( its footy yay )^^
  • Small Map Size
  • No laggs ( Maybe if Fullhouse and you got an Win98 :p )

CONS:
  • Many skills are from standart Wc3
  • I would like different Skill Icons and Hero Models ( but thats make the map bigger... so its not rly wrong.


Honestly this map makes more fun than other footys, thats becouse you can choose youere skills and so its more fun

Also the Mapmacker is rly nice and keeps the Map updated.

Im glady to give you 5/5 +rep + extra spicy cookie for this map and becouse of youere Work that you spend on our Map. Keep up the good work so that more player can play it !

The loading screen is no longer white, and much more pleasing to look at. The 'press any key to continue' has been modified into 'Click Here'. I'm not sure why that's been done, as you don't actually do any clicking. The terrain saw a huge improvement, with a good amount of use of the smooth tool. I was still unable to play this on single player. It's a minor thing, but it's easier to check out the units and abilities prior to playing the game competitively.

The mini-map image was removed, so I had a greater map awareness, which is quite important in a footman wars map. The heroes went through a decent amount of balance, which was one of my major complaints.

The map has went through an extensive improvement. For that reason, I've changed my rating to 3.2

Hmm i just played. Its pretty fun but a lot of the nukes are way too powerful. I would get two hitted by storm bolt and chain lightning which doesn't seem very balanced.

You could increase all the heroes magic resistance so they take less damage from these spells. This way the spells are still effective on the creeps.

tried to host it 2 times, both times lot's of people just droped and i got an exception error, killing warcraft 3...

Well, it doesn't happen in other maps, so the error most likely isn't on my side... i think it happened when i tried to upgrade my creeps to the orc windriders, not absolutely sure though.

in addidion: some skills seem kinda broken, chaos orb for example. When the skill text says "when attacking air units the attacks become ranged" one could imply that it works on melee heroes, too... it doesn't :p
Did you change anything about the Drunken Brawler? Could be my imagination, but that one seems to have some problems, too. In addition to not working at all for ranged heroes, at least not for mine :D You should add infos, for what heroes the skills work, like "Melee only" or "Ranged only"

unfortunately not.
I was just running around and hitting on some units when it happened.
had drunken brawler, cleave, vampirism and that attack/movement speed aura

When you look at the tooltip to "Upgrade to Orc" it lists Wind Riders as costing 1250, but in reality it costs 1750 to upgrade, which is more than I've seen for anything else. Also, when I finally got enough gold and upgraded to Wind Riders, the game crashed for everyone in-game.

I´ve fix the problem as soon as possible. (maybe the problem will be gone anyways, because i thinking about remove all air because of it is to easy to hero aim)

Edit: Tested the whole map for more bugs like that, but no one found (bug fixed).

I loved the idea and I loved your concept but how come the heros dont have abilitys thats what I thought was a bit odd.
