How exactly would I create a Lightning effect between two points without using a dummy? I tried making a dummy and making them attack each other but if I want them to be unselectable they won't attack and make the effect.. So is there an alternative to making this effect?

Also, Is there any way to move an effect around on an axis? Like make flamestrikes effect come out upside down for example?

EDIT: I downloaded the 406 patch so creating lightning effects is not a problem.. The problem is creating them on my units that I made go into the air.. It just makes the effect where the units would be standing.. how would I remedy this?

change the flying high of the dummy caster to the height of your superseven things.

another thingif the first one is wrong : in the trigger::: change the flying height before you tell them to cast the effect otherwise you will have the problem you have right now.

I was hoping to avoid using a dummy caster. I was actually using one of the new triggers in the 406 beta with creates lightning, but I cannot give it any vertical height.

Had the same problem, I think we should ask in the Battle.net Map Development forums for the vertical height, they're actually listening to us...

create the effect on the unit not at the position of the unit, usesomething like chest for attachment point for the effect.

You can't. It's from point to point. Unless I can somehow make a point variable and have it equal an attachment point. Otherwise, I don't there is any way to give it vertical height.

EDIT: No way I can see to set a variable like that. Oh well..

Well since I can't do it with triggers, What is the best way to execute something like this? What ability should I base it off of so I can make a lightning effect between the points? I tried making dummys with that as their attack but that caused problems when I tried to hide them or give them locust. Any recommendations?
