Creating Attachments On Models (Basics 101)

I need help on creating attachments on models....
im using the magnos model editor and i only can use it to do minor stuff...
Attachments can be linked to bones that i noe , but how do i choose where the guy shows up

i have this tower model , but no soldier up their ,but i want to have a image of the soldier up there how do i choose where the attachment goes?

REMEMBER using the magnos edittor
