Crappy RPG Terrain

Just uploading the terrain from an RPG I've been working on, I changed up the terrain completely a couple weeks ago and now for some reason felt like uploading the old version now. I don't know if anyone can find a use for it but if you can feel free to use it.

Theres an insane amount of pointless environmental doodads right now and it would probably be best to remove them and place new ones where you actual need them. I opened it with the standard editor instead of jass new gen and had to remove the 800 some odd flowers to get it to save. I tend to get a little carried away. Theres a lot of space left in the map to use so that shouldn't be a problem.

That must have taken a while :eekani: I actually quite like it, I don't think it needs to be dubbed 'crappy' at all. I am also a fan of the cramped, overgrown look in a few of the screenshots, but I think for an RPG map there may still be a great excess of doodads, and some of these areas of terrain should be more for show than playability. :thumbs_up: The areas in screenshots 10 and 12 (numbering pictures left to right then top to bottom :wink:) look good for RPG compatability though :)

I think it looks nice, and deserves not to have crappy it isn't bad really. I m a big fan of Cotms Hrps ARp ERP etc if you know what that is. If that would be one of those it would be realy FANTASTIC! realy good work.

Well the terrain isn't that bad, but the amount of unneeded things placed is astounding. Did you even think of what you're making? You need to save up space, dear lad. Also I would suggest to lower the overall amount of imported doodads, you don't wanna get pissy players, while waiting for the download to complete.
Also it's clear that you don't have a logical sense with tileset. First rule: Lordaeron Summer tileset is a pain in the ass. It's worthless least to say. For the sake of humanity use another one.
Useless amounts of water. I bet no one is going to look at them, so why to add in the first place? Actually it's the same problem as with doodad spam. You're making terrain for a map, not eye-candy.

Nothing crappy about this at all. Have a little confidence in your work. There are mistakes and a few obvious things, but it's quite good for an RPG.

I was making an RPG; just because they usually have terrible terrain doesn't mean they all have too? I don't see anything wrong with trying to make a map look nice. I mentioned that there were too many environmental doodads in my initial post and that players should likely remove them and place them as needed.

The scale of the units was modified to 0.6-0.7, ms was lowered to 210 and collision is at 15-19. I also wasn't just throwing down random creep camps, I was using the space as best I could. I should have mentioned it before but I don't think anyone plans on using this anyways. Maybe someone new to terraining can at least gain something from it.

Theres only 12kb of imports.

Useless amounts of water? I don't understand, the town is a fishing village. Without water I can't figure out where they'd fish, or what they'd do with all those boats.

yeah i know, something you know someone has been working on for a long time with nice images and whatnot then the terrain sucks nuts.. its very disappointing.
