Armory

The concept is simple. There are four types
of armor, two chest armors, and two full armors.
The first two are lighter, but also less protective,
while the other two are the opposite. However,
since steel is tougher than iron, less of it is being
used in production of those armors, hence why
steel armors offer both more protection and more
reliability, though they are also more expansive.

Weaponry

Weapons are the most trivial part of the game. There are 3 different types of bows, and 3 different types of crossbows, with one extra, starter bow. Special weapons include Longbow, which has a chance to pierce through armor, and Chinese crossbow, which comes with an automatic reload system. Depending on weapons' power, they have different travel speed. For example, Longbow is much harder to dodge than the Bow, because it is more powerful, so projectile travel speeds are defined in three classes, with the first class being the fastest, and the the third class being the slowest one.

Ammo is another very important factor, no matter what weapon choose. For instance, normal ammo does normal damage, Armor-piercing ammo 20% more damage and have a chance to strike through your opponent's armor, which also depends on the type of armor the opponent is wearing. Poisoned ammo uses lighter materials, and is slightly poisoned, and although it has a very low chance to strike through the armor, if it strikes into the flesh, it'll poison the opponent for 10 seconds, dealing 5 damage per second. The quiver holds up to the max of 100 arrows, or 150 bolts.

Equipment

Equipment is what plays a side role in the game. You could probably do just fine without it, but it is there to spice it up. "Max" stands for "Maximum Quantity".

Great idea! I really like the concepts and stuff.
Did this idea arrive from Counter Strike? It seems that way :p
Also, I think there should be other kinds of weapons like axes, swords and stuff like that. Its quite weird if you don't have melee weapons :p
You might also want to add some healing items like some food for them to eat while they are not doing anything. They will then regenerate health or something.
Overall, I really like your idea :)

Yes I have, and I am still thinking about using melee weapons or not, they seem useless. (except for one backup melee weapon, of course). There won't be any food or anything, cause it's not realistic to heal yourself only by eating, and in a small amount of time.

Nice armor concept, does the speed in the list indicate speed reduction? It should also have no armor option that enable user to walk at full speed. Of course, you can make them rather vulnerable.

The quiver holds up to the max of 100 arrows, or 150 bolts.

Add a fire arrow as well. You can set the fire arrow that burn the enemy armor, making them more vulnerable and slower. Of course, you can set the reload speed for using fire arrow slightly longer.

'Tis an interesting map indeed. You are indeed a talented modder, HappyTauren (awesome models and awesome idea :D).

Despite me feeling strongly against trying to replicate other games in Warcraft 3 maps (ppl trying to make Dawn of War, Starcraft, etc. LACKS ORIGINALITY!!!), I feel differently about it when you simply take a gameplay style and implement your own ideas on it and such. I like the idea :D

Now, is it just me or does the Chinese Crossbow seem a little... overpriced? I mean, it has a pretty good cooldown, especially in comparison to the Longbow, but it does 30 less damage and lacks that sweet Armour Piercing. I think if you had a Chinese Crossbow facing off a Longbow, the Longbow would win. Perhaps change the cost around? Or maybe the stats, if you prefer?

As for your armour system, it is well thought out and I see no flaw or need for criticism on my part :p.

And Septimus, a fire arrow would be pretty cool :p. Just one thing on that though: They wouldn't exactly be ammo, would they? I mean, if you were able to get one Fire Arrow, you'd be able to make any other Arrow a Fire Arrow, too, wouldn't you? And aside from the realism factor, what would it do that a good ol' Venom Arrow can't do?

Yes, they are ammo as well. If my memory serve me right, it require some material to make a rather good fire arrow. You cannot just drench a arrow with oil, light it up and fire.

Fire arrows are very impractical versus human targets, as they are intended to burn war machines, houses, and basically set stuff on fire. They are rather impractical to "reload", as you'd have to fire each of them, so you need a torch, and in this map you are basically running around. Poisonous arrows, however, only require that you carry them around and use when you need to.

Chinese crossbow is a special. It's got a 1.1 sec. cooldown, cause it has a Chinese automatic crossbow mechanism. It's got moderate, or semi low damage, but you can shoot rather fast. Why so expansive? Well, basically, the environment is set somewhere far from china, and it's probably rather hard to find a Chinese crossbow. Besides, I believe it's the best weapon versus multiple opponents, where the longbow is most certainly the best one against a single opponent.

Hmm, makes sense. Point accepted. Even though fire arrow are efficient against armor, they are easy to be dodge considering that human could run and would not stand still like house or war machine does.

I have an idea. Maybe you could use melee weapons to block arrows and stuff that are flying towards you. When you use the weapon and the weapon hits a arrow, there is a chance to deflect it or something.
Also, I really think there should be some other kinds of equipment. Like for example boots to allow you to move faster or something. Maybe there could be some lighter kinds of armour that do not reduce movement speed.
Melee weapons could be stuff like Mace, Axe and stuff. Mace ignores armour and Axe causes the guy to bleed, losing hp overtime and moving more slowly. Or maybe just a simple melee weapon you get at the beginning. Something like a small blade to slash enemies when they are closeby. It should deal rather good damage and have fast cooldown or something.
PS: Do you target a unit with the Bows or do you target a point?

Hm... what other weapons could be added? Perhaps an entirely new class? Like Throwing Axes which travel slower but do more damage? Or Throwing Knives with a little more travelling speed than the Throwing Axe but do less damage? Or Bombs, where you plant them and then light them as you desire?

Also, will their be any magic? If so, that could open a whole range of Orbs that have different abilities for attacking, even a healing orb (for a medic effect :p).
