Converting/Opening 3DSM 9 files in 3DSM 5?

I've run into a real problem here. I'm animating a Warthog model, which is my first animated model.
How do I get it from my 3D Studio Max 9 to my 3D Studio Max 5???

im not sure you can downgrade the max files but maybe if you convert it to obj or something you could import it.

The ".obj" doesn't take animations... Any other possible suggestions?

3DSM 9 doesn't save or export to that file-format...

just out of curiosity why did you make it in 9 if you have 5? you could have saved yourself the trouble... well if you have milkshape try importing it in there and exporting it as a mdx or something... im not sure if the animations will hold but its worth a shot.

I don't know how to export it to Milkshape...

The reason I made it in 9, is this:
I have 3DSM9 on my computer, but 3DSM 5 is my parents computer, 'cause 3DSM 5 got really fu**ed up om my computer before I had it formatted...
But I'll make it on my parents computer from now on, since it's less trouble than this..

If you have done the model, why you don't use the .3ds to .Mdx converter?

Does it take animations? If it does, can you please post a link?

that converter is horrible, it does not work at all. honestly the worst thing that can happen is that you export it in a different format and have to reanimate it again. its better than making it over again on 5.

Ok, I'll just go for ".3DS" then, I just have to fix the transitions on the animations some...
