[Solved] converted jpeg to blp and said alpha and it turned 0 bytes and crashed

Turning to 0 bytes in import manager means the import failed and the file is corrupted. In such a case re-import or replace the file so it has a non-zero size, save the map and then try using it.

If you are saying that your converted JPEG turned into a 0 byte BLP file then that will be caused by using a trashy BLP converter.
