Concept Idea:The Modern World

The modern world plays through the events of the 20th and 21st century to the point where one player/alliance is left alive. The game is unfair to some at times, and then suddenly, the game shifts in their favor. The countries go through strange and exotic events that tend to spin around the playing field, if you haven't played the faction it'll be hard to keep up, if you have played that particular faction, it will change the game to be you having to preempt how to deal with the nation's problems.

Depressions, hunger, rebellion, all the things nations face will be part of this epic struggle for the finish line of conquest. The year changes every 5 minutes giving you plenty of time till the end. 8 hours is a long time to play a Warcraft map. Though it is doubtful you will play through all 100 years, there might be a few secrets that speed things up just a bit...

The game contains a lot of countries and even the myths of the 20th century are present at time.(P.S. I wouldn't advise going into the new york sewers without at least SOME form of military)

I will now reveal the countries and their plights down the ages, but I give one tip, it helps to know your history.

U.S.A.
The U.S.A. is not an easy race to play as economically. They will not be attacked easily militarily, as units take forever to travel anywhere and traveling across the ocean, you better have some base in South America before taking them over or you'd be uberpwned.

U.S. is also the only reason many countries live during the Cold War segment of the game, the WWI segment, and the WWII segment of the game, however, if you manage to survive past the cold war era and into the 1990s-2010 segment, those who control the middle east(who are not major players and are instead taken over by the country who gets there first and holds it long enough) are going to become warred against the U.S., should no one control the middle east, the U.S. gets some more cash, but the middle east has a lot of suicide bombers, and very dangerous units.

U.S. is easy to get through (1938-1990) with, however, should russia decide manage to get troops on cuba without the U.S. intervening, the U.S. can die without russia also dying. The U.S. can't touch russia for obvious reasons, but we'll get into that later.

The U.S. starts out with Ellis Island and Angel Island procuring immigrant every minute, three on each of the cities. The immigrants can become working citizens or soldiers, but this period ends in 1914 when world war I starts. As WWI starts, there is a tech available that allies you with france and UK, although this alliance may only lasts till after WWII when France can tech to end the alliance and instead gain Italy's control. The UK alliance withstands-throughout and can be portrayed as a stand on communism which has it's enemies in the western world and many allies in the eastern world.

WWI isn't hard for America, but it isn't too slow either, one wrong move and Germany has destroyed your base in th U.K. and since troops take forever to move across from one place to another, and especially across the ocean(it's just big is what it is), the U.S. will not be destroying Germany. Oh and another tip, as soon as your bases in U.K. are destroyed, you lose shared vision with France.

So now we've covered WWI and a bit of the Cold War. This game is based on the countries that were major players in response to World Power, Russia, U.S., China, and momentarily Germany. Since there are also neutral places that have fun and often interesting effects when taken over, the World is large and there should never be a dull moment.

U.S. is subject to another few things, such as operation desert storm(A country can take control of the middle east and will war with the U.S. for the next 30 years, if no one took the islamic world before Operation:Desert Storm, Africa gets control of it). Also, during both depressions U.S. loses all it's gold mines and factories stop producing gold for 10 years and 5 years respectively.

Africa Africa is a very fun, but also very hard Playout. From the beginning onward, it is your job to use tactical guerilla maneuvers to outwit and rebel and European countries. Your forces are spread out over the land of humanity's first evolution/creation. You have strongholds in Ethiopia and Liberia.

Teching comes along giving you opportunities to get special powers of worship and fight your country out of suppression. And typing -War France or -War Italy, will allow you to enemy the opposing country ONCE. This is your chance to rebel, but the tactical area is to do it when they least expect it, or are busy elsewhere. When France has reinforced Africa is not a good time to attack, but when Italy is busy fighting the allies would be.

You are in control, this country is about planning out exactly what you want to do at the right time. Teching the wrong thing for the time could result in problems. Africa is incredibly powerful and has the power to last till the end.

Africa is another large power but must take most of their land back, however, be careful in 1935, the country Germany, which has control of Italy, is prompted to take Africa, and as Ethiopia falls, so does most of the country go to Germany...

Africa has a lot of turmoil in the early years of the War, but if they live long enough to head to the 21st century, they can be incredibly powerful. During the African Mass Rebellion segment in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, the African Countries get a teching for simple guns, many places become rampantly voilent, however, and must be quashed by the government before hostile units kill off your workers in certain places. In addition, somalia gets a dock that can be used to terrorize ships that travel between Europe and Asia, or Europe and the Americas.

Africa is a very intense playout, and should be taken considerably seriously. Africa is the make or break to any game that is dominated by Germany, or Russia. But, Africa is unimportant in Asia in most ways, or even America till the 1990s.

Thank you for reading this concept, please feel free to ask any questions. If I manage to get this off the ground, I am hoping to add more questions. I have started terraining in my free time. Hopefully this will be an idea to remember.
