Ok, I'm new here, so pardon me if I ask anything dumb or what. First, please take a look at the attachment below, it's basically a Arthas- Lich King model, just that it looks more realistic. I have been trying to convert this damn thing into a model for warcraft 3, so that everyone of you can enjoy using a nicer lich king model, not that General Frank's lich king version is worse or what, this one just looks more real. I successfully converted this thing into a model file, took me days of crap and research. But there's one damn problem that stopping me from completing this small work of mine, and that's the fact that this model has multiple skins. 1 for the sword, 1 for the armour, and 2 more for the body, upper portion and lower portion.

Now the standard way of importing a model as we all know is using Import manager in world editor, then binding them, both skins and models to something else ingame, then there you go, the model and the skin. But, what happens if you have multiple skins, how do you bind multiple skins to one model? On the other hand, if that's not possible, is it possible to combine all the skins into one skin? I have researched quite abit, and apparently no one has ever came across such a weird problem. A little help from you people here would be appreciated, and sorry to bother you people if you think this is a waste of time.

On the other hand, I just realised maybe this is not the place to post the problem, maybe I should go post it at another spot.

well, you'd need to create several material slots...

depending on which program you use the workflow varies!
but its a skinning and moddeling question, hence this is the wrong subforum!

i dunno what you searched for, but your problem doesnt sound that bad...
(though i didnt quite understand what you want to say due to lack of terms and awkward expression)

Ok, I will rephrase it then, how do I apply multiple skins to a model when world editor only accepts one skin for one model at any one time? My model needs more than one skin, and world editor can't bind multiple skins to one model. Thus, can I combine all the skins into one skin? If yes how? If not, how do I bind multiple skins to a model? The Lich King model was just to help you get a better idea, though I would try to use that model for testing purposes if possible, if that's not illegal.

Can you be slightly more detailed? I'm not really that good you see. How do I even attach it? Do I do so like attaching items to units?

First of all you get something wrong:

You dont attach skins to models in WE
The Skins are set up in Magos Model Editor (or any other 3D program that is able to export .mdx)
You specify the texture path in the model itself and import the texture.
You then set the texture path to the one specified in the model (you can for example set the file path of a ingame texture andn dont need to import that again)

There are quite a few tutorials dealing with that (some more some less)

the windows description will help

really, search for tutorials, your problem isnt hard to come by and i guess everybody will be too lazy to write down something that has been discussed already for many times!
