Closed Thread?

Hi, I haven't been logged on here for quite a while, but recently I started doing some small tweaks to one of my old campaigns (which I of course never finished..). Now I wanted to update the thread for my campaign with an updated demo, but it says the thread is closed.

How do I open it so I can edit my post and post new comments?

Opened for you! Threads will auto-close after a period of time to prevent necro-posting. Whenever you need a thread reopened, just make a thread in staff contact or send a PM to a moderator.

To edit the poll, you'll have to contact an admin.

If Ralle could make the author being able to open his/her own thread that would be great.

Something to consider for hive 2.0 at least.

I guess you forgot about trolls then.
It would work though if you as admin could give people the rights to re-open their own threads.

The auto-close of threads is something we made to prevent necro-posting, so I may as well just remove that addon then.

I fail to see how one can troll open his own thread.
Even he he open it, he needs to post in it, else it wont get bumped to the top so that people will notice it is open in the first place.

And if the post is OT, then there was a valid reason to open it I suppose.
If it is off topic, he would break that rule instead in which case he can just get a warning or whatever.

Not really.

I am just saying that the owner of a thread could reopen his own thread if it was closed due inactivity. There is really no need to bother mods with this if you ask me.

I mean people usually go like "please open this thread for me"
In which case you might as well allow them to do so themselves, and save your staff some effort.

The only place this feature would be useful is for resources. If there's not a way for the OP to reopen the thread, I think we should just keep with the current way of requesting the thread to be reopened.

Re-opening map development threads is not all too unusual. Workshops, idea threads.

There are a few I can think of, but I wont argue more than this, it is not important enough to put down so much effort in trying to convince someone otherwise

I don't disagree with you. I just think that unless there's an easy way to let an OP automatically reopen a thread, I don't see too much of an issue with the OP requesting the thread being reopened.

Chaosy, you are right. If I was still developing this addon, I could add the feature to always allow the creator to wake up the thread.
