Hi,

What must a unit have in order to be classified as "Air" for the effects of abilities like Crypt Fiend's web?

I went under the flags for unit classification but "Air" is strangely absent...

Edit: I want to make a Crypt Fiend's web affect only a certain class of ground units. Units that look flying but still cannot actually fly. I want to classify these as "Air." Is there a field to do this in?

"Air" is from unit target type, a different type of classification from "flying" which refers to the unit's movement type. They can both be used for classification but are not directly related.

As such Air is for checking if a unit is a valid target of an attack or spell while Flying is for pathing.

Keeps editing this cause I'm not really hitting "the spot"

No, again they are not related. An Air unit may have the movement type walk or a ground unit may have the movement type fly etc.

Web will work on ground if that's what you've set it to, whatever movement type the unit has won't matter.

How do I classify a ground unit as Air so Web works on it?

E.g. I want to classify a Footman as Air.

Except you don't want to do that. Instead go to the web ability and set its targets allowed to ground and air.

Otherwise you're going to have footmen targeted by aerial shackles and Grunts unable of hitting them.

Well here's my problem.

Let G be all of the land/ground units in my map. They can't fly like flying units. They walk around and are affected by ground collision (trees, water, etc.).

However, I want some subset of G to be affected by the Crypt Fiend's web.

If I let Web target all ground units, then it doesn't do what I need.

So you're saying classifying something as Air prevents melee from hitting it?
