Classic vs. Reforged Lighting

While working on some custom maps, I've noticed that playing with Reforged Environments enabled in game causes some of the custom models to become overly shadowed and jarring to look at. Is there any way that I can adjust the lighting in the World Editor to preserve the Classic lighting style seen in the first image, while also using the Reforged terrain used in the second image? I've tried changing the weather settings, setting time of day, and changing the tile set to be brighter, and I'm just not seeing anything else that can be done. I realize this may need to be done outside of the editor, if it's even possible. It's just a bummer to not be able to enjoy the reforged terrain because of the gloomy darkness that comes with it. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Note: The oppressive shadows only seem to affect a few units, and weirdly is not something that goes away if I go into the Object Editor and remove shadows from a particular unit. Certain models seem to just behave differently with regard to world generated body shadows in a way most do not.

if you haven't already, try going to the editor -> Scenario -> Map Options and play around with the "Custom Light Environment". It's possible some environments lead to starker shadows than others.

But if you aren't seeing this on other models (even other imported ones--try importing one from this site), then you may want to attach one of the models (with its textures) here for someone with modeling experience to take a look at. It's possible that it has an issue in its normal map or perhaps its material settings.
