Well, I've noticed that all around the country child abuse happens. Im quite sad that it happens and Wonder why it happens.

Lately a thing on facebook occured.

"Change your profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood, the goal? To not see a human face on FB 'til Monday, December 6th. Join the fight against child abuse. Copy & paste this to your status to invite your friends to do the same. "

I guess the standard 'serious' answer would be "Children don't fight back", and to a degree is right.

I think Facebook is fucking stupid. While child abuse is sickening and even if I get negrepped again I'll say that all who do it deserve to be shot, I also think that displaying pics of yourself on the internet in any shape or form is being utterly irresponsible and narrow-sighted. Anyone can do anything with your appearance and you won't even notice it, so opening up on FB or anywhere else is basically asking to be hurt.

True dat, that's why parents and the responsible part of the children's environment should watch out for them instead. I'd add not letting your kid to access the internet to the standard "never talk to strangers" and such lines.

It's often the family's fault, even if they're not directly responsible.

True, it usually is the parent's/family's fault for child abuse(Usually is the parents that are causing it). Doesn't mean that we can't do anything about it though.

Children cannot fight back because they don't know how to articulate all that is child abuse.

The only way awareness is raised in this case, is when you and your friends all change your profiles to your favorite cartoons. You proceed to reminisce about your wonderful childhood then you're supposed to contrast that with the pain and suffering of abused children. Only by doing so do you realize that something must be done. The sad thing, however, is that most of us will only stop at the *positive* discussion about our childhood and refrain from trespassing into the *negative* discussion about child abuse. It's pretty natural that we as humans want to spread positivity and not negativity. In fact, many of the profile-pic-changers on facebook have dropped the child abuse message altogether. They just don't care.

IMPORTANT:the whole changing your profile picture to your favourite cartoon chatacter thing was actually created by a group of pedophiles, because if children see pictures of cartoons they will add them, it was currently on the programme Internet frauds and will apparently be on tv .....some time tonight, put this as your status to warn people and change your profile pictures back, thank you

Yeah dude, a lot of people get duped into stuff like this because they want to help to do the right thing.

Just because the media tells them something is the problem they think that it's a problem. We are all getting manipulated.

The thing I am telling you is: There are more politicans who kill guys to prevent critical media to become public then childrens that have been abused.
Lets face it: 99% of the child abusing is offline. So just 1% of the abusers will care about it. From the 1% of the abusers 70% use private networks which you can't enter nor view. So 0,3 % of the abusers would care about it if they would visit any of the sites.

Sources: Me, and media-unrelated researches of people that have knowledge.

We should care about the manipulation of news, media and humans instead. This is a way bigger problem but nobody seems to be interested since we are all told as "dumb" and "worthless" and "leak".

Please respect my honest opinion, I had a different one before as well.

meh, that's just fag. Ofcourse it's not like I support child abuse or pedophilsm but this won't change anything. Actually this might be work of an otaku or just an another pedophile, there's a fact that children are more willing to accept cartoon profiles.
