In this map the units and buildings are cheaper so that the whole game gets started very fast.
The distance between the players is very small, means that you need to get a army very quick to survive.
There are no creeps so its all about killing the enemy and using a better strategy then he does.
Test it with other players or bots and you´ll see its fun.

How can it be mini when the size of everything wasn't reduced?

As far as i get it the size has not changed but thats not what the map is about ...
the workers got so much life because otherwise they would be dead in a few minutes because the distance between the players is small.
The units are cheap so its great to test some strategies or train the micro or just to build a huge army and send them all to death =D
i think its fun =)
