CHAOS V0.5.2Beta

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
CHAOS or Custom Hero Aeon of Strife is an all new A.O.S (Aeon of Strife) map with several new features along with some renowned features.

Features include:

Custom Heroes:
All heroes have 2-4 classes from which they can choose skills from ensuring free development of your hero. Chaos currently has over 150 skills to choose from.

Three Way Setup:
Chaos is based on a three-way A.O.S. setup allows fun action packed chaotic gameplay. The three races are Wildlings (based on Night elves), the Soulless (based on undead) and Righteous blades (based on humans). Your race has no effect on which heroes you may choose. The win system is also a variation: Unlike in other three way AOS maps, the game ends when any main building is destroyed. The team whose total building life is the largest at the end of the game wins.

Strategic Points:
Strategic points is An all new unseen feature. Across the map there are 4 "Strategic Points". Capturing them will not only improve your gold income, but also improve your creeps.

Upgradeable Creeps:
Not only does chaos have a selection of upgrades it also has a small amount of temporary bonuses for your creeps, to give them the edge when is needed.

Item System:
Chaos has an item system, causing heroes not to be able to use more than one item of the same type. Types include: Weapon, Staff, Boots, Armour and Artefact.

Monster Shrines:
Across the map monster shrines is scattered. Using them will summon creeps based on your level.

Large Variety:
Chaos currently has 50 fully customizable heroes and more than 120 items and item upgrades.

Firstly Win Condition is selected. In last team standing you need to kill both teams, while in sudden death the team whose total building life is the most when a player is defeated wins.

Game modes is then selected. In standard a hero may be selected multiple times by different players. In classic a hero may only be selected once by a player and in all random all players get random heroes.

Note a new feature in 0.5.0...If you type ! before a chat message it displays the text above your unit.

I'll add some picks of the new stuff in 0.5.0 later...it will be a massive update.... There's a new hero...The Rune Blade...its a Int melee hero with the bouns ability to slice everything in a line. Its classes is warrior, lightning and fire. The next heroes I will add I'm trying to make very unique.

Any requests for hero remakes....like making the hero more interesting...since I can actually code Jass quite well these days so feel free to request something original.

If possible remake the *hehe* wizard! *hehe*!

The wheels in my mind are turning, be sure that a brilliantly awesome remake will soon hit these pages...

speaking of remakes, why not redo the Gnoll Assassin? He seems a little to pathetic and more of a briggand than a true assassin, maybe give him a slow acting non-showing poison or something in that line to amke him more sneaky?

Paladin of the skies
agi based
melee

(model: that highelf bird-dragon thing rider from the human race =O)

classes: fighter, creature(cause hes flying that birddragon), lightning,
skill: "Tactical Retreat"
the Paladin of the Sky becomes temporarely flying and max movementspeed, but in return he cant attack nor casting spells during this duration. lasts 15 secs.


btw u could finally add my mean ogre =P

The model is the DraGON Hawk Rider, known for it's timestopping skillZ. Also, that ability is going to be implemented in a new hero in DotA ver. 6.60, so I doubt that KYTON would approve.

:'( I love that ability!

PS: I've got an idea for the Wizard but give me somre more tiime. As for the GA, maybe give him the ability to "Stalk" his pray (heavy DODGE) and gain bonusses while near that pray or something like that...

will revine it a bit as it is way too common.

2 is since wh1pl4sh used to play chaos with me and I took timestop as an ability always since he has a massive amount of arcane firepower. Using tons of lightning skills you and your breath deals massive damage, removing the need of a damaging ulti....

I will prob add a gryphon rider with the ability....I added your oger.... Remakes I'm considering:

Golem : Rampage (used to increase as) now reduce intelligence dramaticly adding it to strenght and agility while increasing ms and damage taken.

Avatar: Smite: Will now silence the hero for 2 seconds.

Paderian Warrior: Roll: Deals damage to nearby units while rolling.

Wizard: Regain a minute amount of mana and life when a spell is casted nearby. (possible...need ideas)

Gnoll Assasin: Leathal Shot. Channel. When stop channel fires a arrow dealing damage based on agility and channel time which is reduced by the amount of distance the target moves.

or:

Natural Camouflage: Increase the transparency of the gnoll while standing still, eventually becoming 100% invis


Cleric: Rune Hammer. Grants bonus damage based on the percentage of mana the cleric has remaining:

0%-20%: 5%
21%-40%: 8%
41%-60%: 12%
61%-80%: 17%
80%-100%: 25%

anyway, I really like the gryphon rider idea, with the ability to fly and evade most damage, maybe make it like this:

When you activate fly, you can be attacked and you're magic immune, but the fly only lasts a few seconds (quick getaway type) and you can't attack while flying. (abilities can also not be used)

The Natural Camouflage on the GA sounds nice, as it's more sneaky than the arrow or the Crits.

An idea for the Wizard:

Whenever someone casts a spell, she gains +1 Int and the caster loses 1 Int, for a short amount of time. Maybe you can also give ger vision of that unit for a short amount of time?

Just an idea...

hm when he gets the flying ability he still can get hit...but just by ranged units
also...15 secs arent that long
maybe the cd should be alot higher...like...120 secs or 150 secs

skill:(passive) the player who controls him has a much shorter sight-range(he only see stuff in a 400range around him from the whole terrain!)
but in return, he gain whole 30% evasion

really awesome idea for the illidan model there, as he is blind anyway! maybe call it (whats that feat in DnD, o!) Blind Fighting! +evasion and maybe something like a chance to counter an attack?

could be awesome!

and hmm, that ability of the GR is a little imba, you can screw any melee heroes yet a ranged hero can own you np? maybe just make it no-one can attack you, but it's up to you there. (really like that idea though :D)

Hey old friend, it has been awhile :)

You already have my 5 vote from a much earlier version of this map, but man, I wish I could give it a six. For anyone contemplating downloading this map, here are some of its strongest points :

- Heroes choosing their own abilities is something that can be found in a couple of different AoS maps, but in no AoS map I have played, have I seen it executed so well. While HoSK has its own distinguished and interesting feel, I personally feel that the custom skill purchase system in this map is better and easier for new players to understand.

- The custom triggered abilities are very innovative, and allow for very interesting hero combinations.

- 3-way AoS maps are always intense, because they give you the feeling that you're being attacked from all sides. This is probably the best quality 3-way AoS map in existence, imho.

- The spellcasting notification system is very useful, and something I implemented into my latest map project after enjoying it in this map.

- Plenty of recipes to satisfy any AoS fan.

- Very good balance. In earlier versions of this map, I had many problems and doubts in how well the map could be balanced, when players can choose their own skills - Choosing too many of the same type of skill can become extremely imbalanced - But over the versions it looks like Kyton worked very hard to negate all of my fears. Freaking excellent job.

- The pace is very fast and energetic, because the troops deal a substantial amount of damage compared to their total hitpoints, giving the feeling that you're just massacring your enemies, but the spawn rates provide excellent counterbalance to this, to keep the troop waves from drying out. Very fun!

- Several different game modes available for play, making the map quite interesting to play, and adding greatly to its replay value.


All in all, like I said, wish I could rate a six. Keep up the good work man!

PS: I love what you did with the preloading wait, no more lag on the Ability select eh :D

nice new pic but yeah...some bugs are there with the new heroes =/
the ogre gets str+5 agi+1 int+1 per level instead of +4,+2,+1 per level(i think its a typo...) oh and his base attackspeed at the beginning is a bit too fast imo
playing him is like a mix between a fortress mixed with a half agi-hero lol
well hope u fix all the bugs soon to make the new vers stable ;D

btw the font of the loading screen is prety nice o.o why dont u use it for your map preview too?

Buffed Skills

Just in case you haven't seen it. Dark Impulse and Seal of Death seem to be rather pumped up. Main case is Dark Impulse, as Seal works just fine on heroes just does rather impressive damage on creeps. My best case was on one of the boss creeps, I punched it once with a lvl 16 Nether Golem, did about 1/20th of it's hp in damage, did seal of death, and the creep died. Doesn't seem right.

Dark Impulse though is weird. I've used a level one dark impulse to annihilate an entire creep spawn, mountain giant included. ((Righteous vs Wildings)). Seems to work anywhere, gotta get lucky to make it kill everything though. Instead of doing one shot, and at the said damage, it seems to bounce around a bit and destroy absolutely everything. I've got a picture of it doing more than 50 damage to a spawn creep, just gotta get it on here...

Awwright, so, they're kinda bad, but it's hard to run at something, use dark impulse, get it's hp and not attack it at the same time. I'd already done just that, so it healed itself then I tried again and got these. The damage is only from dark impulse, at level 1, where it should be 50.

I looked into the code and you where right.....It dealt way more damage than the description....(for some reason it created 2 missiles for every single unit resulting in double damage ....)

Oh, and Hellfire is fricken brutal to use. Ran from Righteous to the Wilding/Soulless battle line, wiped out all but the ranged and even got two of them. When the units get that close to each other, holy crap.

Okay I fixed some bugs....Its now somewhat more stable....>_< it has bugs in it....but it won't explode from all the bugs.....I'm really hoping I can clear up all the newly arrived bugs and restore the map to its former glory and exceed it.....Thanks for your guys help...Your really helping me make this an success and I appreciate it....

Problems

Sooo...I played online with a friend of mine.

The abilites and items screwed up badly. Whenever we learned an ability, it removed the item in our hero slot matching the wisp's. We don't know why. My buddy also couldn't upgrade a lot of his after getting it the first time, it said "You have to learn that ability before you can upgrade it.", or whatever that message is.

Don't really know what happened, but yeah. I had all modes but Tutorial on, if that does anything. >>

Edit: Oh, hey, new version. Imagine that >>

I'll test it with that one and let you know if it happens again.

Ja....while playing I found that bug as well and updated...It should be fixed now.....

Also.....Theres a bug with the ability messages....sometimes it displays the stuff to player 1 instead of the needed player....This will also be fixed in new version.....

TY for informing me so fast about the bug....

Well let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS MAP. its one of the best AoS games ive played. Its relatively balanced. I do think that some of the thunder skills are a bit OP but thats just me. Now that thats out of the way i must say.......fatal error.....alot.... I have now played this game 7 times and 5 times it crashed WC3.
But other then that GREAT GREAT GREAT GAME!!!

Thanks man......If you could tell me a reason why it crashed....I would really go crazy...If can talk to the people you played with...and ask them what they did last?....Like Learn a certain skill, cast a skill....etc...Pleaze....I would greatly appreciate it...Then we can kill this dam crashing forever....

yes when you get thunder nova and i forget the skill name (its the one that cast chain lightning every time you cast a lightning spell) i took 2 heros one same lvl the other 1 lvl below me and an entire wave of creeps using just that and the lightning ulti....thunderstorm i think it was took me all of about 6 seconds.

And as for the crash im sry i dont know i can tell you the skills and items i had but not the skills everyone else had. im sry ive only played a couple times so i dont know all the names yet. all skills were lvl 4 sept ulti which was 3

Skill1-Hellfire
Skill2-Lightning Nova
Skill3-The one that casts chain lightning when you cast a lightning spell
Skill4-The flamethower spell that shoots out fireballs like crazy. does like 7 damage and costs like 4-5 mana per fireball. somethin like that
Ulti-Thunderstorm(i think thats the name)

I had the helm that gave like +20 str/agi +40int and did the w/e bolt
sword with lifesteal (the one thats just sword skull combo)
and the boots that are with diamond

Thats it i dont know what everyone else had i wasnt really payin attention.

I think the Ogre lord hero might be a bit OP heres a replay of the game were at the end i had twice the HP of everone else and (when useing ulti) did like 3 times the damage and attacking a little faster then everyone.

Oh and btw ive played a couple games doing 2v2v2 and no crash. i seems to only happen when i do 3v3v3.

Hey THAT might explain a LOT....if only on 3vs3vs3....>_< I have a crap load of destructables....and I heard something about a handle limit...:p...I'll maybe cut some of the edges and destroy lots of unneeded trees.....

small suggestion.
1.Maybe make towers a bit stronger. i find that generally by the time ive pushed to a tower 2 or 3 times im strong enough to kill it and by the time i get to the second tower i can ALMOST solo it.

2. More creeps spawn the longer the game goes on. Maybe adding 3 extra creeps every 5 minutes. obviously with a cap or it would get insane.

3. Instead of adding more creeps every so often just have different units replace them that are slightly stronger. That way it keeps the game going and more interesting. Not oh im lvl 5 now i can kill all the creeps in a wave by myself only taking 20 damage.

4. Adding couple more modes that would let you choose the suggestions i just made. More creeps mode, Strong creep mode, Strong tower mode.

Just some suggestions.

UPDATE!

Fixed all abilities using researchings which never got past level 1
Removed tons of useless trees and trimmed the map along the edges
Towers now have +5 armor
Melee creeps now have +25 life
.... and more :D

Edit: So far I haven't had a single crash with the new version...If someone could confirm this it would be great.

Edit 2 : I went through all the 100 pages (okay 16....) and some of the ideas are actually really good....Expect to see some of the hero suggestions made implemented in the next version xD

To shadonavan: I like the idea of adding your suggestions as modes....since then you can choose to enable it....ty for ideas :D (note I also made the towers a miniture bit stronger since they now have 5 armor instead of 0 (lol))

Long Mode (opposite of short mode)- 50-75% EXP

Double Creep Mode- Not explainin this one...

True Chaos Mode- (this will get chaotic) All currently existing modes on(meaning none on this list) , 200% EXP, Start with 5-10k Gold
Maybe 2-3 times creep spawns. EVERY creep has a special ability(Splash,Slow,Armor,Stun,Poision) an yes i mean EVERY creep not just each wave.

Hard Mode- Creeps got 2 times hp armor damage. Towers 2.5 hp armor damage. Main building 3 times hp armor damage.

Random Mode- Random heros an skills. you would start at lvl 6 with all your skills selected randomly.

Well just some ideas!

yes, i would like to see some of the items frozen suggested implemented in the next version. also, didn't it crash last time with something about invisibility?

a suggestion: i know i made a huge fuss about increasing movespeed, but i'd suggest making the ms increase on the upgraded boots varry and less, like +40 for boots and +50 for upgraded boots?

also decrease all the units in the map's ms a little bit, like make it something like this:

str. melee heroes: 300
str. ranged heroes: 295-300

int. melee heroes: 295-300
int ranged heroes:285-295

agil. melee heroes: 300-315
agil. ranged heroes: 295-305

creeps: set of 295 or 300.
summoned units: same base ms as the summoner

hm...ye but the random skills should be more like u can choose at least from a tier(i think its also easier to "buy" a random spell fromt he specific tier than letting the comp give u one)
so u would have at least a small controll about your skills
so...every tier would have 2 icons...1 for a random normal spell/skill and 1 for a random ulti

Ok just got out of a game. Guy said he had 2 pieces of lumber and bought an ulti and it took both pieces away. might want to look into that one.

ok well provided you dont come out with another update in the next 20 seconds here is a replay of me usin ogre warrior in newest version and destroying main tower while a hero is attacking me and only losing about 1/8 my life! OP much haha!

yes, and you better start listening to the movespeed crisis i brought up! it's worse than atomic warfare!!!

every game you play you see some random hero and think mhuahahahah gank gank gank him! you charge up your 450ms superspeed naga and boom! he has the same or just a little less movespeed and quickly gets away!

what happened to the uber slow tanQs that were unstopable but they couldn't chase, the whole teamplay dynamic is tremendiously screwed up and i can't spell this time of the morning!!!

oh plz leave MS alone its fine the way it is. oh and ive still got people complaining about there being no towers in base. just about every game i hear there should be 2 more towers inside base somewhere near main building.

On a different note when are you comin out with more skills for the game. Thats the only thing that people seem to complain alot about in the game(other then the tower thing) is that some things got lots of skills and some dont!

perhaps a few more water/mechanical skills will do the trick, eg:

don't know how the current wave skill is, but how about a revamped version:

Wave (find a better name plz)
Pushes all enemies forward in a massive tidal surge, dealing more damage to the all the targets caught in the wave by the amount of targets already in the wave.

level 1: deals 10 damage for every target caught in the wave, travels 600, max of 200
level 2: deals 20 damage for every target caught in the wave, travels 700, max of 350
level 3: deals 30 damage for every target caught in the wave, travels 800, max of 500
level 4: deals 40 damage for every target caught in the wave, travels 900, max of 650
level 5: deals 50 damage for every target caught in the wave, travels 1000, max of 800

just read it and it doesn't make sense, basicly the wave deals 10 damage if it hits one target (level 1) to that target, then if it hits another target, it deals 20 damage to the last hit target. so if you stand at the back of the wave, you suffer loads more damage than the guys who stand in the front of it.

if the wave hits a creep, it deals 10 damage to the creep, if it hits another creep, it deals the 10 damage dealt to the previous target (in this case the creep) plus another 10 damage, if it hits another creep then it deals the 20 damage recieved by the previous creep to that creep plus another 10 damage, and if it then hits the hero it deals the 30 damage recieved by the last creep plus another 10 damage to the hero, with a total of 40.

perhaps it should do more damage per hero than per creep, like 10/20/30/40/50 per creep and 15/30/45/60/75 per hero?

anyway, tell me what you think buddy, you know im bored to tears and you don't wanna jam chaos anymore...
