Changes by patches in custom maps

No. In order to apply such melee changes to custom maps, you have to modify the Game Data Set field to "Melee (Latest Patch)" on WE Toolbar -> Scenario -> Map Options...

After doing so, only untouched data fields of a certain object will be adapted to the current version. However, if you are worried about it, backup your map and test it.
