The size of the attachments for armor/helmets are too small for my heroes. Can I use the editor to increase the size of attachments the heroes in my map when attachments are visualized through abilities?

Use War3ModelEditor tool to resize those models 
I guess there is no way to edit model once when you attach it like special effect.

Some attachments have small/medium/large animation names so they appear as different sizes when worn on a unit.
Units have data field Art - Required Animation Names - Attachements. Set the animation there.
However not that many attachments have more than the standard size, so this most likely won't help you that much.
