yea my frozen throne disc got scratched all to hell and i can no longer install the game so i have to copy and paste froma backup disc lol. every now and then it will tell me to insert my cd (when i already have the original cd in the drive) but hitting retry a few times will eventually start it. as well, since I had to get a registry key off the internet, (otherwise it wont let u patch) the registry is only partial and the game wont start when you put in the cd, because it informs me that i have to isntall warcraft 3 roc first lol. I have to click my frozen throne icon and then the game starts without a hitch

I've bought and installed both RoC and TFT way long ago and used to have the original TFT disc in my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM. It worked just fine (surprising, huh?), until WC3 poped me this dialog, roughly like this; "Please make sure you have the original WC3 TFT disc inserted". Since I had the original TFT dics inserted, I ejected it, picked it up and found some minor scratches. To be on the safe side, I decided to emulate the disc instead.

First, I tried to used ISOBuster to make an image of my TFT disc. That didn't work, so I tried to make an image of my RoC disc instead, since you can use both to run TFT. This time I got the same error from ISOBuster, but when I loaded the .cue file (with Securom emulation enabled) in Daemon Tools, it worked! Furthermore, I have never seen that dialog again.

I really don't know what Blizzard thinks about this, but I say it's OK, since it's just an image of my original, bought disc.

I use my RoC cd because my Tft cd make my computer go bananas and the cd start spinning with 100 mph, atleast, it sounds and vibrates like that x) and i can't open my cd-drive so it just continue spinning like a mad until i restart my computer and removes the cd before it begins again. It's a weird bug my computer makes, and it's only with that cd, i've tried it on other pc's and they work fine. Very weird

You're well within your legal rights to make a copy of any data you own (in this case the cd) for your own personal use, so basically your fine as long as it's you using the image. Personally, I doubt Blizzard cares if you make copies and give them to all your friends, they do care when you start selling them to your friends though.
