Can't Work Out Omnilights...

I am trying to create omnilights in my map but have failed miserably.

The guide by Nullcurrent that teaches how to use/create omnilight (appears to be the only one on the web i could find) is either for experienced users or just not made noob friendly:

Under Creating Omnilights: It tells me to first open model editor, browse the MPQ Browser for the model I want to create omnilight on but fails to mention what to open in order to browse for the models, it's like teaching a trainee how to notice a incoming missile and to eject when it is too close and the brilliant part, did not teach him what ****ing button to press TO EJECT. Nullcurrent, what a brilliant man.

I spent hours after hours looking for other guides and relevant information that could shed light into this issue and failed.

Any help would of course be appreciated.
 
You can create a simple light in war 3 model editor (Not animated, War 3 Model Editor has a light bug, and some other bugs). Can be omnidirectional, ambient and directional.

Open War 3 model editor and go to File/New. After that, go to Windows/Node Manager, in the new window right-click and Create Light. Right-click in the light object and click edit node. Here, you can change the name, and some other values. In the Z pivot point give it something like 75 - 100 (Z is the height), then Ok.

Double click in the light node, and in the new window you can assign some values like color, intensity, atenuation, etc. Most of the blizzard models use attenuation starts at 80 and the attenuation ends at 200, but you can change it to your needs. Intensity is how intense is your light, visibility is for make the light turn it off or on (1 = on, 0 = off). The most common light type for doodads and decorations is the omnidirectional, ambient light and directional is for other purposes like a DNC (The world light in warcraft 3).

When you finish putting the values, go to Windows/Sequence Manager, right-click Create New. In the name, change it to Stand, interval from 0 to 500 for example, then Ok. Save the model and test it in world editor.

If you need the light animated, you need to use an Hex editor and edit the binary code, you can follow this tutorial, if you got troubles I can help you.
