Well, you can use the voice that's already available or ask people to voice acting (warning, custom voice take lots of Space)

They used pre-recorded Dialog from Blizzard Development Team.
You can also "make your Heroes talk", just record your voice and place your voice accordingly with the scene.

Yes, I agree, I know it's possible to make custom sound recording, Adventure of Rowan the Wise Campaign for example.

But remember, if you want to use custom sounds, make sure it's really needed else you make some space taken without reasons.

Also, this can also be executed in units, not just heroes.

On a more serious not, you can find those pre-recorded dialogues in the sound manager.. or as the posts above says, you can import your own recorded voice..

BTW, I'm not hijacking this thread but, If he does want to record his own dialogue, what is the best music/sound format for it? with the least size?

AFAIK, Warcraft III only accepts 2 types of Audio File Format: .wav and .mp3
Use .mp3 for lesser size.
